📚🦘 We’re excited to be taking part in National Simultaneous Storytime 2026!
On Wednesday 27th May at 12:00pm AEST, children all across Australia will be reading the same story at the same time — this year’s book is Luna Roo: The Kangaroo Baller ⚽
At Miss Vee’s Little Comets Family Day Care we will be celebrating with:
✨ Shared storytime
⚽ Soccer and movement inspired play
🎵 Songs and group discussions
📖 Literacy and imaginative play experiences
National Simultaneous Storytime is a wonderful opportunity to foster a love of books, language, imagination and connection within our mixed age learning environment.
We can’t wait to join children and educators across the country for Australia’s biggest shared reading event! 💛💙

🌸 Happy Mother’s Day from Miss Vee’s Little Comets Family Day Care 🌸
Today we celebrate all the amazing mums, grandmothers, carers, and special people who fill children’s lives with love, comfort, guidance, and support every single day. 💖
Thank you for the cuddles, the patience, the encouragement, the strength, and the endless little things you do that help children feel safe, valued, and loved. Your care helps children grow into confident little learners ready to explore the world brightly. 🌈✨
Wishing all our beautiful families a day filled with love, laughter, special moments, and appreciation — because you truly deserve it. 🌷

🌈 Starting the Journey at Little Comets 🌈
As we begin welcoming our little learners into care, I wanted to take a moment to talk about something many families experience — separation 💛
Starting care is a big transition, and every child responds differently. For some, it’s excitement and curiosity straight away. For others, it may look like:
• Tears at drop-off
• Holding tightly to a parent
• Quiet withdrawal or uncertainty
• Big emotions later in the day
All of these responses are completely normal and developmentally appropriate. They reflect the strong attachment your child has with you — and that is something to celebrate, not “fix.”
At Little Comets, I approach separation using attachment-informed practice and Circle of Security principles, which means your child is supported to feel safe, seen, and secure as they build a trusting relationship with me.
✨ What this looks like in practice:
• Providing a warm, predictable welcome each morning
• Supporting children to express their emotions, rather than rushing them through them
• Being a consistent, calm presence — “I’m here, you’re safe”
• Using co-regulation (comfort, connection, reassurance) to help children settle
• Respecting each child’s individual pace — no “one size fits all”
• Working in partnership with families to create consistent, supportive routines
🌿 In Circle of Security, we talk about being a “secure base” for children to explore, and a “safe haven” to return to when they need comfort. That is exactly the environment I strive to create every day.
💬 For families:
Short, confident goodbyes and consistent routines can really support your child. I will always keep you updated and work alongside you — because you are your child’s first and most important attachment.
Together, we will support your child to build confidence, independence, and a strong sense of belonging 💫
