The way we encourage, educate and empower is by making our services; personal to each client, simple to follow and to a standard that far exceeds expectations. We provide DIY courses in our Townsville workshop, DIY packs, as well as an incursion service.

🐦🏡 Molly’s New Home Has Taken Flight! 🏡🐦

Liam has really spread his wings with this whimsical bird house, specially made for his feathered friend Molly! 🐦❤️

From the beautifully curved timber roof to the intricate laser-cut accents, Liam has added plenty of tweet-worthy details to make this one-of-a-kind home stand out from the flock! 🌿✨

And let’s talk about that green and orange colour combo! 💚🧡 Liam has definitely given Molly a home that stands out from the flock! This unique colour choice, paired with all those amazing laser-cut details, makes this bird house one tweet-worthy creation! 🐦✨

With a perch, decorative details and plenty of character, Liam definitely wasn’t winging it when it came to the design! 😜

Molly is one lucky little bird to have a home this egg-cellent! 🥚🐦

🐗 Hog Wild About This One! 🪵🔥

This project is hogging all the attention! Using our laser etcher, Steven created this striking boar head on timber, then took it to the next level with some seriously wild finishing touches. Acrylic red eyes give it a fierce stare, and to top it all off, he mounted the real tusks from one of his prize-caught boars, making this piece truly one of a kind.

Talk about bringing home the bacon! 🥓 This project has plenty of grunt, heaps of character, and enough hog appeal to stop anyone in their tracks.

Steven has certainly proven that when it comes to creativity, he's not one to boar around!

Outstanding work, Steven, you've absolutely tusked yourself with creating an unforgettable piece! 👏🐗

WELL, WELL, WELL... Look What Scott Built! 🪣🪵

Some projects are special... and then there's this one!

Scott has just completed a one-of-a-kind wishing well, making it a true Life Skills original. From carefully measuring and assembling each piece to adding the final finishing touches, this project has been a fantastic journey from start to finish.

We even managed to capture Scott in action, putting the finishing touches on his masterpiece! With a handsaw in hand making the final cuts and the sander smoothing everything to perfection, these photos show the care, patience and craftsmanship that went into every stage of the build.

The finished wishing well is something to be proud of. With its detailed roof, timber bucket and sturdy construction, it's a project that will turn heads wherever it finds its new home.

Amazing work, Scott! Your creativity, dedication and hard work have certainly well and truly paid off! 💙🪣

Lighting Up the Workshop... One Project at a Time! 💡✨

Rohan and David have both been busy brightening up the workshop with these incredible custom-made lights!

Rohan created a sleek bedside light box, finished in a modern black and white colour scheme. He personalised it by laser etching some of his favourite gaming logos onto the acrylic, making it the perfect addition to his bedroom.

David took a more classic approach, crafting a larger light stand featuring his favourite football team. With a natural pine top and dark stained legs, his two-tone finish gives the project a timeless look that really stands out.

These projects are a great example of how the same idea can become two completely unique creations through personal style and creativity. From woodworking and staining to laser cutting and engraving, both Rohan and David have shown just how much can be achieved with a little imagination.

Fantastic work, gentlemen—you've certainly lit the way with these amazing projects! 💙

🧱 Everything is clicking into place for Matty! 🧱

Matty has really built something awesome with his latest project – a custom LEGO creation table that's brick-tacular! 😄

The tabletop features two LEGO base plates, ready for endless building adventures. But the clever design doesn't stop there! He routed out lower sections on each side so any loose LEGO pieces stay contained instead of making a great escape. No more bricks sliding off the table mid-build!

To top it all off, Matty added a sturdy shelf underneath that's perfectly sized for storage boxes, giving every spare brick a place to call home.

This project is definitely block and roll, proving that with a little imagination, you can build something that's both fun and practical. Fantastic work, Matty – you've really stacked the odds in your favour with this one! 👏🧱

When Creativity Meets Christmas Magic... 🎃🎄✨

Serafina has been hard at work this year creating incredible handmade gifts for her friends, and somehow each project is even more impressive than the last!

Her latest masterpiece is this stunning multi-layered The Nightmare Before Christmas light box. Every intricate layer inside was precision cut on our laser, creating incredible depth and bringing the iconic scene to life when illuminated. The outer frame was also crafted from timber, with perfectly cut slots to hold each layer securely in place, turning a stack of individual pieces into one magical display.

Projects like this are a fantastic example of how woodworking and laser cutting can come together to create something truly special. The planning, patience, and attention to detail have certainly paid off!

Brian's Final Project... For Now! ☕✨

After spending a long time as part of the Life Skills family, Brian is taking a well-earned break—but not before finishing on a high!

His final project is this stunning mug holder, showcasing just how far his skills have come. Brian carefully stained the timber before using our laser etcher to remove the stain, revealing this intricate and eye-catching pattern. The contrast between the rich timber tones and the etched design makes this piece truly one of a kind.

Brian, thank you for all the laughs, friendships, and hard work you've shared with us over the years. We're incredibly proud of everything you've achieved and wish you all the best for your next chapter. Enjoy your well-deserved break—you'll always be part of the Life Skills family! 💙

🐴✨ A personalised piece with plenty of creativity! ✨

A few projects ago, Chelsea created this beautiful custom name tag for her door, and we couldn't let it go unnoticed!

Chelsea started with a timber base, painted it a crisp white, then added her own personal touch by designing and cutting colourful acrylic letters for her name and a stunning horse feature. The combination of timber, colour and detail has created a unique piece that is full of personality.

It's amazing to see how our clients turn simple materials into something meaningful and completely their own. Great work, Chelsea! 👏

🏆 Hard work pays off! 🛠️

Ian has been putting in the effort in the workshop, and it's really showing! He's powered through two fantastic projects, finishing a custom side table featuring his favourite AFL team, Essendon, and a personalised lap table showcasing his favourite beer. 🍺

Every project is another chance to build new skills, confidence and creativity, and Ian has been doing just that. It's been great to watch his dedication turn into two practical, personalised pieces he'll be proud to use for years to come.

Awesome work Ian, keep up the great work! 👏
