🔸Welcome to Week 7 at Mundingburra State School.
🔸This week, our football team will play game two in the Les Stagg competition on Wednesday, P & C meeting is on Thursday and on Friday, Year 1 have a visit from QFD (QLD fire department).
🔸On Thursday morning, it is our ‘Book Week’ parade! Students are encouraged to come dressed as a book character and to bring the book along too, if they have it. Please pack a uniform for your child to change into if they don’t want to stay in their costume all day.
🔸The parade starts at 9 am on the 3-6 oval.

• On Wednesday night, our under 12 rugby league team played Bohlevale SS in the Les Stagg competition.
• It was a close game, with Mundingburra State School winning 22-20!
• Year 6 student Daniel received man of the match with 2 tries and a try assist, Kosei kicked the winning goal and Finlay, Brayden and Sabian also contributed.
• Next week’s game is against St Clare’s on Wednesday at 7:30 pm.

🔹Year 6 student Deja is currently playing at the rugby league state carnival on the Gold Coast.
🔹Deja is representing North QLD and she is the captain of the under 12 girls northern team!
🔹Congratulations on your achievement, Deja! You should be very proud of yourself!

😊As part of our “Bullying No Way” assembly this afternoon, one student from each P-6 class was nominated by their teacher to receive a kindness award.
😊The students were recognised for demonstrating kindness in their everyday actions and for making a big difference to others!
😊Well done to all of these students, and also to all of the other Mundingburra students that demonstrate kindness too.✨

🔹As part of ‘Science Week’, P-2 classes participated in a wildlife session with Ranger Jackie from “Hands On Wildlife”.
🔹Students had the opportunity to touch and hold some Australian animals including a woma python, squirrel gliders, a Kreft’s river turtle, blue tongued lizard, bearded dragon and saltwater crocodile.
🔹There were many excited students who listened respectfully to Ranger Jackie’s talk. Teeny, the juvenile saltwater crocodile, was very popular! 🐊

💜From 17-21 August, it is “Bullying No Way” week.
💜Tomorrow after 2nd break, there will be a short, whole school assembly.
💜Students and staff are encouraged to wear ‘a pop of purple’ to show their support of this day of action. If students wear purple clothing, it needs to be sunsafe. Otherwise, they are to wear their regular school uniform.

🔹The new additions to our P-2 playground are ready!
🔹Along with the equipment already available, students can now enjoy a game of futsal or climb and slide on the wooden fort!
🔹We are trialling a year level roster for the futsal field so everyone can have a turn and play safely.

▪️Tomorrow our string orchestra students have the opportunity to work with Ms Mulligan and some talented PSHS students.
▪️Both groups will perform in the hall afterwards, starting at 10:30 am. Ms Whitbread invites students and interested families to come and watch their performances.
