Meet Karly 👋

We’re very excited to welcome Karly-Rose to the All Access Education Group team as our newest Occupational Therapist!

Karly comes to us with five years of paediatric OT experience, working alongside children, young people and their families across a wide range of needs.

One of the things we’re particularly excited about is Karly’s strong interest in mental health and supporting teenagers — an area we know families in Townsville are constantly looking for more support in. She’s currently taking that interest even further by completing her Master’s in Mental Health.

Karly will be working with children and teens around things like emotional regulation, sensory needs, executive functioning, independence, confidence, routines and everyday participation — with plenty of collaboration between families, schools and the rest of our team.

She’ll also be working alongside Kathleen and our growing allied health, psychology and education team, which means we can keep building the genuinely connected model of support we’ve been working towards.

Most importantly, Karly is warm, down-to-earth and genuinely passionate about helping young people feel understood and capable.

We’re getting dangerously close to full.

We now have fewer than 30 student places left across our tutoring programs, and the biggest thing stopping us from opening more spots is simple:

We need more great people.

We’re looking for another 3–4 casual team members who are currently studying in areas like:

You don’t need to be a qualified teacher.

You do need to be patient, reliable, good with kids, willing to learn, and actually care about helping students build confidence — not just finish their homework.

Most work is after school, evenings and Saturdays at Townsville Education Centre in Currajong.

You’ll work with a huge mix of students, including plenty of neurodivergent kids and young people who haven't always thrived in traditional classrooms.

This is a genuinely great casual job if you're studying education, allied health or medicine and want experience actually working with children and families while you study.

We’re growing ridiculously quickly and would much rather bring the right people into the team now than start turning families away.

💙 How do I know if my child needs support?
If you've noticed your child is struggling at home, school or in everyday life, it's worth having a conversation. You don't need to wait until things become overwhelming.

📅 How do I get started?
Simply send us a message, give us a call or complete our enquiry form. We'll chat about your concerns and help guide you to the service that best suits your child.

👩‍⚕️ Do I need a referral?
Usually no. Most of our services can be accessed without a referral, although some funding options (such as Medicare rebates) may require one from your GP.

💰 Can I use funding?
Depending on the service, we accept NDIS (Plan Managed and Self Managed), Medicare EPC referrals for eligible services, DVA and private clients.

⏰ Is there a wait list?
Availability changes regularly. We currently have appointments available across several services, including after-school and weekend options for some disciplines.

👨‍👩‍👧 What happens at the first appointment?
The first session is all about getting to know your child. We'll discuss your concerns, observe how your child learns, communicates or engages, and work with you to develop a plan that suits your family's goals.

🤝 Do you work with schools?
Absolutely! With your permission, we can communicate with teachers, schools and other professionals to help everyone work towards the same goals.

💬 What if I'm not sure which service my child needs?
That's completely okay—and very common! Just tell us what's been happening, and we'll help point you in the right direction.

Every child is different, and every family's journey is unique. Our goal is to make accessing support as simple, welcoming and stress-free as possible.

Most of our Term 3 tutoring schedule is now full, but we still have a limited number of options available for families looking to get started.

Current availability includes:

At Townsville Education Centre, tutoring is about much more than completing homework or improving a grade. We help students build confidence, develop better learning strategies, become more independent and understand how they learn best.

We support primary and secondary students with reading, writing, mathematics, high school subjects, exam preparation, study skills, organisation and motivation. We also have extensive experience supporting students with ADHD, autism and diverse learning needs.

Every student is carefully matched with a tutor based on their needs, personality and goals because the right relationship can make all the difference.

Finding paediatric Occupational Therapy can be difficult when you live outside Townsville, especially when appointments mean taking time off work, missing school or travelling during the week.

Our new Saturday Occupational Therapy clinic makes it easier for regional families to access support at a time that works better for them.

Our paediatric OTs can support children with:

Our values are not something we want sitting in a document that nobody reads.

Clinical Psychologist — Townsville

We are building a new psychology service at Townsville Education Centre, and we are looking for the right person to help shape it.

Not simply someone to walk into a full caseload and follow a system created by somebody else.

We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist who wants the opportunity to influence what the service becomes.

You would work alongside a growing team across occupational therapy, speech pathology, education and administration, with medical services forming part of the next stage of TEC.

Next year, we will move into a brand-new multidisciplinary clinic designed around children, young people and families.

The aim is to create a place where professionals can work together rather than families being left to coordinate several disconnected services themselves.

You would have genuine input into:

• Psychology referral and intake pathways
• The client groups and services we prioritise
• Clinical policies, processes and resources
• How psychology collaborates with OT, speech, tutoring and future medical services
• Your own areas of interest
• The recruitment and development of the future psychology team

The role is designed around approximately 25 clinical hours per week.

The rest of your week is available for report writing, indirect work, collaboration, professional development and helping develop the service.

We are deliberately avoiding the high-volume model that leaves clinicians exhausted and families feeling rushed.

The role includes:

• $110,000–$125,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience
• A 4.5-day working week
• An early Friday finish
• Flexible completion of suitable non-client work
• Strong administration support
• Established internal referral pathways
• Clinical autonomy
• Future leadership opportunities as the service grows

Townsville offers a lifestyle that is difficult to replicate in larger cities, but this role is about more than relocation or work-life balance.

It is sometimes difficult for us to reconcile what Townsville Education Centre is becoming with where it began.

TEC started in a small space underneath our family home.

There was no large administration team, no allied health service, no clinic expansion plan and certainly no vision of employing the number of people we do today.

There was just Liam and Rozi, a handful of students, some tutors who believed in what we were trying to build, and a desire to create a place where children could receive support without feeling like they were failing.

In those early days, every new enrolment felt enormous.

Every family who trusted us mattered deeply because, without them, there was no guarantee the business would continue.

We answered the phones, organised the timetable, taught students, cleaned the rooms, fixed problems and tried to work out how to run a business as we went.

A lot has changed since then.

This year, our wage bill across the group will likely pass the $1 million mark.

That number is exciting, but it is also genuinely frightening.

It represents tutors, clinicians, administration staff, event facilitators and support staff who have chosen to build their careers with us. It represents people who rely on us to make good decisions, provide stability and create a workplace worth being part of.

We feel that responsibility every day.

TEC is currently growing at a rate that regularly pushes Liam and Rozi well outside their comfort zones.

There are moments when the growth feels incredibly exciting, and other moments when it feels like we are building the plane while flying it.

We do not have every answer.

We are learning about leadership, finance, recruitment, systems, risk and sustainability in real time.

But we also keep hearing from families who need more support.

Students need tutoring.

Children need occupational therapy.

Families are waiting for speech pathology and psychology services.

Parents are looking for healthcare professionals who understand children, neurodevelopment and the challenges families face when services do not communicate with one another.

So, even though the growth sometimes terrifies us, we continue moving forward.

In the coming weeks, we expect to welcome another occupational therapist, expand our speech pathology team and introduce psychology services to TEC.

Next year, we plan to open a brand-new multidisciplinary clinic designed around children and families.

The vision is to bring tutoring, occupational therapy, speech pathology, psychology and medical services together in one connected space.

Not because we want to become the biggest service.

Because we know how exhausting it can be for families to explain their child’s story repeatedly, travel between different providers and try to coordinate support on their own.

We want to build something more connected.

Something practical.

Something that gives families a clearer path forward.

When we look back at the rooms underneath our house, it does not feel like that long ago.

We still remember the uncertainty, the late nights and the feeling that every new family was taking a chance on us.

The scale may be changing, but that feeling has not.

We remain incredibly grateful every time a family chooses TEC.

Thank you to the families who have grown with us, the staff who have trusted our vision, and the wider Townsville community that continues to support what we are trying to build.

We are excited about where TEC is going.

We are also nervous, overwhelmed and very aware of the responsibility that comes with it.

But we are going to keep building carefully, learning quickly and doing everything we can to support as many children, students and families as possible.
