✨Introducing Myself ✨

Hello,
My name is Sarah McDonnell and I would like to introduce my new business, Sarah’s Tutoring.

Sarah’s Tutoring aims to assist students (Prep to Year 10) in reaching their personal academic goals in a variety of subjects including (but not limited to) English, Science, Mathematics and Humanities. It will also provide students with learning/revision resources (videos, worksheets etc) as well as strategies to assist future problem-solving and learning. My services will be based in Townsville, with sessions hosted at the Eddie Koiki Mabo Library on James Cook University Campus.

Now a little bit about me. Whilst 2020 was an unforgettable year in the world’s history books (for obvious reasons), it was also an unforgettable year for me. In 2020, I graduated Ayr State High School as School Captain and the first Queensland cohort to study under the ATAR system (compared to OP). During Year 11 and 12, I studied English, Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Overall, I received an ATAR Score of 96.1 (the highest at Ayr High) as well as Subject Dux of Biology and Chemistry.

In February 2021, I was offered a position at James Cook University where I am currently studying a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery. In the future, I am hoping to specialise in gynaecology/obstetrics.

I have always had a passion for helping people plus a love of learning and teaching others. I love solving challenging problems and am not afraid to think outside the box or use alternative strategies to achieve the desired result. I am a compassionate, patient and dedicated person who understands that each student has different strengths, weaknesses and learning styles. I am committed to assisting individuals in reaching their personal goals, no matter the difficulty and will endeavour to create an interactive, supportive and fun environment for learning.
