On Friday 21 August, students are encouraged to wear PURPLE or ORANGE to show their support for Bullying No Way Week 🟠🟣.

By wearing these colours, we can help raise awareness and demonstrate our commitment to creating a school community where everyone belongs.

At Kirwan State School, we believe every student deserves to feel safe, respected, included and valued. Throughout the week, our students will participate in activities and conversations that reinforce the importance of kindness, respect and looking out for one another 🌟

Together, our small actions can create a ripple effect of kindness throughout our classrooms, playgrounds and wider community.

Let's work together to make a BIG impact at Kirwan State School! πŸ’™πŸ’›

On Wednesday 5 August, Kirwan State School proudly celebrated NAIDOC Day.

We began the day by gathering in the hall for our NAIDOC Assembly. A huge thank you to the Kirwan State High School Clontarf Dance Team for sharing their culture and performing for our studentsβ€”it was a wonderful way to begin the day's celebrations.

Following the assembly, students took part in a variety of engaging NAIDOC-themed activities, including Garden Hands, Playdough with Indigenous Symbols, Nature Bracelets, Colouring-Ins and Handprints, Affirmation Drawings, Rock Painting, Bracelet and Chain Making, and exploring NAIDOC stories and history through PowerPoints and Storybooks.

A big shout out goes to Brielle & Alex, our school’s Cultural Captains, Nicky Pryor, the Kirwan State High School Clontarf Dance Team, and our fabulous NAIDOC Committee who put this whole day together.

It was a fantastic day of learning, creativity, and celebration as we recognised and honoured the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
