JCU African Students Association -JCU-ASA

Calling all African students,

Welcome new and current students to the second semester of 2022, we hope the first week has been going well.

It’s been our pleasure being a part of this club and making events happen last year. As the new semester begins, we would like to encourage anyone who is interested in continuing the association to kindly send us a message via our page if you would like to vie for any of the positions.

The following positions are vacant and can be filled;
1. Club's President
2. Vice president
3. Secretary
4. Treasurer
5. Assistant Event Coordinator

Of interest, for the first time, our club has a good amount of funding 💰 that the new executives can launch with and use for future planning events.
Several events will be happening this semester that the club can participate in.

Have a wonderful semester and look after yourselves.

We are excited to Host Cafe International next week. 🤩

This will be our first event this semester.

🍱Take a break and come have some delicious food and treats.

🌍Play a few games we grew up playing and meet other students.

Dress up in some African outfits that you have. But don’t come on African time, all the food might be gone.😅

We look forward to seeing all your beautiful faces. 🌟

This year we want to get social and hear from everyone!!

Some ideas already posed.

• A gala at the end of the year.
• A celebration of graduates party.
• fitness sessions such as going up the hills or dance classes.
• sight seeing activities ( crystal creek or trips around tsv/qld)
• more support from outside African communities.
• a check in to see how you are doing, especially for those with distant family
• potluck events to celebrate our diversity
