As a United Nations Global Peace School, we're creating opportunities for students to build empathy, resilience and global awareness through authentic storytelling. Inspired by the Human Library movement, our Peace Library invites students to hear firsthand experiences from refugee and migrant young people, helping break down stereotypes and foster understanding across cultures.

With students from 69 cultural backgrounds speaking 49 languages, this initiative celebrates diversity while strengthening inclusive and connected communities. 🌏💙

From gallery walls to concept art studios 🎨✏️

Our Certificate III in Screen and Media students recently took part in an annual excursion that has quickly become a much-loved tradition, connecting creativity, industry, and artistic skill development through experiences at Art Gallery of South Australia and our industry partner, CDW Studios

Students participated in two immersive “Drawing in the Gallery” workshops, exploring anatomy, texture, light, colour and sound, through observational drawing techniques inspired by artworks from the permanent collection. From planar and ovoid drawing studies, to imaginative sketching exercises, students developed their understanding of structure, rendering, and visual storytelling.

The day continued at CDW Studios, where students took part in a life drawing workshop led by lecturer and concept artist Duncan Li. Working with timed poses ranging from 1 to 10 minutes, students challenged themselves to strengthen gesture drawing, observation skills, confidence, and artistic speed by focusing on movement and form over detail.

This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to learn from industry professionals, refine their creative practice, and experience the pathways available within the arts and screen industries.

National Volunteer Week 2026 will be celebrated from 18th-24th of May. This is Australia’s biggest annual event recognising the valuable contributions of volunteers and their impact on our communities. Our TSC community has been supported by many volunteers over the years. Volunteers have supported classes across the curriculum, in particular in our New Arrivals Program, and outside the classroom in gardens, sports teams and special events.

Volunteers provide not only academic assistance but also wellbeing and social support. Many of our volunteers are qualified (retired or overseas) teachers or have professional experience in the subject areas they are supporting. Other volunteers have practical skills and knowledge which they can share with students or are bilingual, which is incredibly valuable in our diverse learning environment.

If you, or someone you know, are interested in becoming a volunteer, please send an email to [email protected].
