TUTORS/CLASS CO ORDINATORS

Semi-retired or retired? If you would like to give back to your community, and have an interest in being a tutor or class co-ordinator, there are heaps of opportunities.
U3A is a global volunteer led organisation with an emphasis on learning, being social, having a go and a laugh, and connecting with people.
We are always looking for new ideas and classes.
You may have interest in an area like Language, Games, Art, History, Technology, Exercise or something completely different. Or maybe a one off talk on a topic of interest.
Teaching experience isn’t needed; you just need to be passionate about your subject/hobby/interest and be organised and a good communicator. You will certainly be appreciated as a volunteer.
Your commitment can be flexible, depending on your availability and the type of class.

Vaughan Lamb gave us a fascinating lecture about the American War of Independence this afternoon. Very interesting to understand a bit more about the events that led to the war and how this has shaped today’s USA.

THE ROLE OF RELIGION IN US HISTORY
Yesterday we were treated to a fascinating presentation from John Powers on the role of religion in US history. It was a real eye opener to me to learn about the importance of religion to many people in the USA and their sincere belief that a god is looking after them; even down to victory in the sporting arena. We are looking forward to hearing from more experts on the USA on Thursday afternoons over this term.
