Lisieux Catholic Primary School - Torquay

All Lisieux students are asked to donate one book each for our annual Book Week book exchange. Books are requested by this Friday- students will wrap at school on Friday afternoon in readiness for next week’s book swap.

Book parade will take place on Tuesday at 9am!

Science Week was cooking up a storm yesterday with our very own Lisieux Master Chef Cook-Off!

Our budding chefs were challenged to create and submit a recipe featuring pumpkin plus three other ingredients from our Ubuntu Garden. Then it was aprons on as they cooked, plated and presented their creations to our discerning judging panel — Mr Roberts, Lenny and Cam!

Our judges had the difficult task of tasting each creation, providing feedback and, finally, announcing our Lisieux Master Chef winners. 🏆
A fantastic celebration of Science Week, bringing together creativity, teamwork, problem-solving and our wonderful garden-to-plate learning. 🌱🎃🍴

Congratulations to all our young chefs who took up the challenge — there was certainly plenty of talent in the Lisieux kitchen!

This weekend we really have ‘dreamed a little dream’ at our 2026 Art Show!

We’ve had bumper crowds and fierce bidding for our silent auction items.

A huge thank you to all students and staff for bringing it together. An extra big thanks to Art educator extraordinaire, Holly Moody, for her brilliant overall coordination.

Final bids on silent auction items close at 3:59pm today!

Winning bidders will be contacted over the next two days.

Today the Year 6s participated in a Confirmation Retreat Day at school. They made lanterns to symbolise the Gifts of the Holy Spirit protecting us in difficult times, as a lantern protects and surrounds a light.

After that, they travelled to St Therese church where they met Bishop Martin Ashe and he spoke to them about saints, why we are confirmed and he helped prepare students for their sacrament.

For lunch, our Year 6s enjoyed a shared hot chip lunch before getting into groups to play Holy Spirit Amazing Race. They raced around the school completing challenges relating to each gift and collected puzzle pieces to bring a symbolic image together.

We are looking forward to next Saturday 15th August at 4pm for the Sacrament of Confirmation. 🔥
