Torquay Early Learning Centre - TELC

This week our educators’ new rooms for 2025 were revealed. All educators were treated with cake pops which contained the name of their room hidden inside.
All children have also begun transitioning to their new rooms and have enjoyed their time getting to explore new play spaces.

Today we celebrated and showed our appreciation to all our staff and early childhood educators.
We wanted to thank all our educators for everything they do and for being very important members of our team at TeLC.
Thank you to all our families who also shared their thoughts and messages of appreciation that we could share with the team today.

We are very excited to be back in and utilizing our brand new commercial kitchen.
Our kitchen has now tripled in size, with additional space to prepare and store food, as well as a nice big Combi oven to cook everything in.

The Hope Room children and educators created their own car wash last week. After adding their creative artwork to the cars, everyone was involved in making sure they were sparkly clean again.

𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐇𝐰𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐑𝐝:
🚫No traffic access to Grossmans Rd from Surf Coast Hwy from Monday 22 April.

As part of the development works on the corner of Surf Coast Hwy and Grossmans Rd, Bild Group will be undertaking roadworks in this area.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬:
🚗Starting Monday 22 April, for around 4-6 weeks, the traffic lanes closest to the development site (Grossmans Rd west-bound and Surf Coast Hwy north-bound left lane only) will be closed.
🚗This means traffic will not be able to enter Grossmans Rd from Surf Coast Hwy or Darian Rd.
🚗Signage with detours will be in place directing traffic to use either Beach Rd/Eton Rd or Coombes Rd/Messmate Rd to access the children’s hub and schools on Grossmans Rd.
🚗Traffic will still be able to access the Surf Coast Hwy and Darian Rd from Grossmans Rd (coming out of the school and children’s hub precinct) as normal.
🚗The Surf Coast Highway (north-bound) will remain open in a single lane under traffic control.
🚗The Bild Group has notified school bus services of these temporary changes.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐩𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬:
🚶‍♀️Pedestrian access will still be maintained on Grossman Rd, however people are being directed to use the path on the opposite side of the road to the development site (out the front of Tropicana Motel).

This week the Friendship room children made purple potato chips with the potatoes harvested from our own garden.
This gave the children the opportunity to be involved in preparing their food and trying something new.

After watching the crane from the room windows this morning the Discover room children have been busy creating their own cranes

We were all very excited to see our new kitchen arrive overnight and be able to watch the crane lift it into place.

Last week work began onsite on our kitchen upgrade. While our old kitchen was removed, the children enjoyed watching the team at work. Having diggers and cement trucks onsite was an additional bonus for them all.
We look forward to watching our new kitchen that has been built offsite arriving at TeLC this week.
