🤩COMMUNITY CORNER💚
We are proud to have supported a pilot program with the Hervey Bay Churches of Christ to have eight street lockers installed on the church grounds recently.🙌💚
The lockers will give the region’s homeless some dignity and peace of mind, with their belonging safe and secure while they sleep and attend appointments.🙏🙏
The RSL sponsored the initiative with a $2900 community grant. 🤩😀

Just finished a Zoom workshop with a lady in Brooklyn, New York who is wanting to establish an Early learning Centre in her home. It was great to be involved at such an early stage and to be involved further as the project develops.

Grant Writing Is All About The Story

People love stories and spend a large part of their lives watching and reading stories and listening to stories in song.

Visions and ideas can be shared through story. Movies and TV shows are stories. Compassion is shared through story, Empathy is generated through story.

A common plotline for most stories describes a situation of PARADISE and then how an enemy causes PARADISE to be LOST, a hero comes along and overcomes the enemy and PARADISE is REGAINED. This is the story of most movies, TV shows and novels.

If you tell an engaging story about your project you will get the empathy of the grant reviewer and your project will go to the front of the queue.

We want your project to be the last thing that they think of before they go to sleep.

This mornings Zoom workshop was with a Community development NGO in Cameroon, Central West Africa. Internet speed and the African accent made communication difficult for us.

They have many essential projects that they are working on and told us that they gained a lot from the 'insightful content' of the workshop, and the CEO told us that because of the workshop his 'mind is getting bigger'.

I'm sure this won't be the last contact that we will be having with them.

We did a Zoom workshop on the weekend with people from a regional QLD sporting organization who said -

"This workshop was fantastic. Fortunately, we had a one on one with Trevor and Annie which made it even more amazing.

We learnt to look at grant writing from a different angle for all of our future applications. The session was very informative and Trevor and Annie made us feel very heard and welcome to the session.

Very much appreciated! Would highly recommend anyone who is interested in applications for grants to attend any workshops that are available with Trevor and Annie".

Yesterday, we zoomed through the workshop content with the Grants Officer from a regional council in Queensland. His feedback regarding the weakest area of many submissions will be very helpful to our future grant writers.

He felt that more focus was needed regarding the expected outcomes and benefits of the project and how the council would be acknowledged for providing the funds.

Apparently, a lot of applicants do not realize that an important part of the acquittal process is how much positive media will be generated by the providers involvement in the project. Naturally, we will highlight these points in our future workshops.

His interest and engagement is greatly appreciated and will be very beneficial to future applicants.
