Building layers. I adore this stage, psychologically there are less constraints as the focus is putting paint down rather than details. Resulting in lovely loose shapes and textures.

Ron Talbot currently showing at The Sands Torquay.

Ron Talbot’s Portrait of a Rock - Devils marbles, is a wonderful snap shot into the rich oxidised iron colours of the raw Northern Territory’s abrasive and textured landscape.

Ron is a founding committee member of Hoop Gallery and the idea and sponsor behind the Tabulrac Art Award.

Locals and surrounds please drop in and have a glimpse of his work.

Anna’s soft snowy landscape from the last landscape painting program. Such wonderful colour palette and depth of field.

It can be challenging to paint a white landscape. She’s nailed it !

A little glimpse at Discovering the impressionists: Paul Durand-Ruel, Art Dealer Among the Artists Geelong Gallery

- Claude Monet, Fir trees at Varengeville (Sapins à Varengeville)

- Claude Monet, The Ally Point, Low Tide (Pointe de Lailly, marée basse)

- Claude Money, Les Îles de Port-Villez

Although the selected morsels I chose are only of Monet, the exhibition is a sketch into French Impressionism from the perspective of Durand-Ruel.

We are incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to see these masters regionally.

A visit to this spectacular show is strongly advised.

How could I have forgotten this wonderful painting from one of the participants of the last still-life painting program! I love her approach to mark making.
