Sav and Bec spent today out at Windale in deep learning and reflection on all things Regulation 97 aka emergency preparedness!!

Thanks to NSW Early Childhood Education and Department of Education and all of the emergency services in attendance. It was a great opportunity to review our emergency management plans and really think about them beyond the piece of paper, in line with best practice advice from the experts.

Whilst we hope we don’t have to use them it’s always good to be prepared!!! As the children know from their regular participation in our drills!

✨ EXCITING NEWS INCOMING ✨

We have a little change coming to Morisset OOSH.

We pride ourselves on making sure your little people feel like a proper part of our OOSH family, in 2027 Savannah’s family is growing by one 🥰

Savannah has started to be transparent at work with the children and over the next few weeks, they will all know what is happening and may ask lots of questions. She is happy to answer any questions that the children have and if there are any concerns, our staff are always happy to have a chat, be contacted by phone or email.

We will also be setting up a little gender reveal for any children who would be interested to know what baby will be and we are going to take children’s votes for a guessing game before revealing 🩷💙 (we are happy to include families in these little reveals if you are interested, please let staff know as we would hate for you to miss out).

As part of their learning about the Census, the children at Care Activities decided to create and conduct their very own census!

The children designed their own questions, selected their Census Field Officers, and have spent yesterday and today collecting data from their peers and educators. It's been wonderful to see their enthusiasm, teamwork and curiosity as they learned firsthand how information is gathered and used to help us understand our communities.

We can't wait to hear about their findings and see the results they uncover!

Tonight is Census Night, so don't forget to complete your Census and make sure your household is counted. Every response helps build a clearer picture of our community and supports planning for the future.

🧶 Knit a North Cardiff OOSH kid a scarf, he’ll be warm for a day. Teach him to knit, he’ll make his own scarf, and then start teaching his friends too. Peer initiated teaching and learning is so special, excited to see how these projects turn out!

Maddy and Bec had fun this afternoon at Cardiff Public School Kindy Expo!!

Lovely to see lots of familiar sibling faces excited to join older brothers and sisters, as well as lots of new families we look forward to welcoming in 2027!!

👀 Do you see what I see? Yesterdays spin painting with a salad spinner at North Cardiff lead to some amazing results, each one a surprise. When we looked at this one, we could see so many hidden figures in the paint drips. Different children, staff, and parents/guardians could see so many different things including a cat, a candy cane, a fish, a gingerbread man, a star, a frog, a gryphon, a puzzle piece, and a teapot. Sharing different perspectives enriches everyones experiences!

Outcome 1.3 Children and young people develop knowledgeable, confident self identities and a sense of positive self worth.
Outcome 2.1 Children and young people respond to diversity with respect.
