We’re proud to be featured by Beef Central, Australia’s leading news source for cattle and beef 🙌
Since 2024, and across six Meat-Tech Futures events delivered around Australia, we’ve been developing and refining a practical engagement model that connects young people and regional communities with the red meat industry. Through these events, we’ve seen the impact this model can have in changing perceptions, building awareness, and helping students see red meat as a place for future-focused careers in technology, robotics, automation, engineering, food innovation and agriculture.
A huge thank you to everyone at Australian Meat Processor Corporation for taking the leap to support a project that set out to do something the industry had not done before.
Through Meat-Tech Futures, we’re proud to be helping write the playbook for attracting tech-minded students into Australia’s red meat industry - showing young people interested in technology, innovation and real-world impact that those opportunities exist right here in Australia's red meat industry.
We’re incredibly grateful for AMPC’s support and proud to be helping build something meaningful for the future of our industry and are already looking forward to the next event!
Meat processing robots have a people problem: This program is addressing it - Beef Central As the red meat processing sector invests millions into robotics and artificial intelligence, a conversation that keeps following the technology asks questions about who will service the machines, who will fix them when they are broken and who will install them? With a potential skills shortage loom...

Join us for the ‘Meat-Tech Futures’ Student Conference for an innovative educational experience aimed at inspiring the next generation to revolutionise the red meat processing industry. Students don’t need to arrive “interested” in meat processing as a career - in fact, that’s often the case! The value of the event lies in exposing them to unexpected STEM-driven pathways and helping them see how skills can be applied in industries they may never have previously considered.
So happy to deliver this for students in the Western Downs - there were some incredible ideas and great research being conducted! Congratulations on the win despite tough competition and a huge thank you to everyone involved 🙌

🚀 We spent last week in northern Tasmania delivering Meat-Tech Futures to an incredible, regional community of Launceston!
This two-day program gave students a unique, hands-on look at the future technologies, and science behind, the future of the red meat industry. Students were welcomed to the team at JBS Longford, got hands-on with cutting-edge technologies used in meat processing, explored the science behind the shelf life of meat with world-class researchers, and even pitched their own innovations to a panel of industry experts.
🙏 Huge thanks to our sponsors, Australian Meat Processor Corporation and the Tasmanian Government (Department of Education, Children and Young People), for making this event possible and investing in regional talent development.
🎉 A massive thank you to our Processor collaborator, JBS Longford – your team went above and beyond to give students a genuine, behind-the-scenes industry experience they will surely never forget.
🎉 A HUGE thank you to our collaborators for helping this experience be such high impact - particularly University of Tasmania, Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture, Greenham and all the teachers who coordinated this with their schools and students!
