Misrepresented, misunderstood sounds-like-Bible ideas, talk and "quotes" that aren't actually what the Bible says can be foundall around - whether it be on social media, in discussions in the grocery store, amongst unbelievers and sadly amongst unbelievers, even preached from the pulpit.
The only way to know - really know - what the Bible says;
the only way to be able to test and discern what a Biblical text says or whether a teaching is truly Biblical is to open your Bible.
Read and study it - you!
Don't merely take it in secondhand.
Learn the Word well.
It will be easier for you to discern when something is presented which sounds good, which sounds like it could be Biblically accurate and true, but which is not.
"Study and do your best to present yourself to God approved, a workman [tested by trial] who has no reason to be ashamed, accurately handling and skillfully teaching the word of truth." 2 Timothy 2:15
