You are created by God,
In His image.

We are called to develop good character.
As God's children, we are called to become more and more like Him in nature.

The more we get to know Him and His nature through time with Him in prayer and soaking in His Word (reading, studying and meditating on the Scriptures) and the more we see things through His eyes, the more we will see Him at work - in us, through us, for us and in the world.

Who we are will shape what we do, yes, that's true.

But our value comes from our Creator and Father.
Our identity is found in Him.

Not in our work.
Not in our opinion about ourselves.
Not in others opinions of us.

Only Him.

Yes, the Bible should challenge us, convict us, correct us, teach us, and yes sometimes even rebuke us.

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." 2 Timothy 3:16-17

And it also comforts, encourages, equips us, protects us and excite us.

What mirror are you looking into - the world's or the Creator's?

When we look for identity and validation apart from the One Who formed and created us, we find our perceptions and understanding of ourselves warped.

God created our inmost being and our outer form. He has a plan and a purpose for each of our lives.

Further, He calls His children to be Christ-like through His purifying work active in our lives.

When we compare ourselves to others, when we apply unbiblical labels to ourselves, we impede the working out of God's plan and image in our lives.

Look into the mirror of God's Word to get a true picture of Who He is and who you are in Him.

On this corner of the internet, my goal, hope and desire is to encourage others in growing in their relationship with God, and developing a love for and an understanding of God's Word.

The Lord brings us through various seasons of life. Each season is peppered with its own uniquenesses and various degrees of highlights, challenges and growth points that we are called to walk (or run) at the Lord's determined pace.

Whatever season you are in, know God assuredly *does* have a plan in, for, through, and with you throughout it.

My prayer is that amongst the various posts I share here the Holy Spirit will use it to draw you closer and deeper into the Father's heart and His truth, life, resilience, peace and victory.
