Shimmer potion making with mica powder added to our liquids for extra magic. Lots of inquiry and investigations.

Mango joined us on our Monthly excursion to OzCare. The residents instantly fell in love with him and his cheekiness (climbing on glasses and leaning in for kisses). It was beautiful to hear all the memories of budgies that the residents previously owned.
It is special to think our visits provide enrichment, a sense of youth and most importantly, connection. An opportunity for stories to be told.

We have some exciting changes happening at our service! 🌟
Please join us in saying “see you soon” to Miss Arnetia, who is heading off to begin as Service Manager at Oak On Erin. The families and team at Oak On Erin are very lucky to have you! 💐
At the same time, we would love to congratulate Vickie, who is stepping into the Service Manager role here at Oak On South. We are thrilled to have her leading our team and supporting our wonderful community. 🌈
While it’s the end of a dynamic duo working side-by-side every day, we know both services will continue to shine with their leadership. Please join us in wishing them both all the very best in their roles! 👏✨

Wow- What an amazing event we had this afternoon at Oak on South with the Easter Hat Parade. Thank you to all of the families that attended, made hats, and especially cheered on our little friends. We have a beautiful community!

In Kindy we have been building upon our inclusive practices as we embed daily Auslan lessons into our program.
This week we have been learning to fingerspell the first letter of our name as we transition between learning experiences.
We also know the signs for sad, choices, please, thank you, yes, no, bad, good, happy, excited, plant, flower, angry, stop, wait, today, nice, help, understand/know as well as many other signs we have learnt through our weekly Maggie Moo Music sessions.
What is most special is how the children are so eager to learn and use the signs throughout the day.

Wow! Check out how much of a green thumb we are at Oak on South.
Our Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden program is booming in the senior yard and the children LOVE visiting the vegetables, insects and fairies when they arrive in the morning to care for them and to check for more produce. It won’t be long until we harvest more for us to enjoy. The other day we tasted our first cucumbers!

Today we celebrated Harmony Day, with a sea of orange and smiles all around. 🧡
Harmony Day is a meaningful opportunity to recognise and celebrate Australia’s cultural diversity. It reminds us that everyone belongs, and that respect, kindness and understanding are at the heart of our community.
We are proud to support children in developing an appreciation for diversity and to create an environment where every child feels safe, valued and included. 🧡
