HAPPY FATHER'S DAY | There was plenty of love and laughter around campus on Friday as we celebrated the incredible dads, grandads and father figures who play such an important role in the lives of our students at our annual Father's Day Breakfast.

From sharing breakfast together to choosing something special at the Toowoomba Anglican School P&F Supporters Father’s Day Gift Stall, it was wonderful to see our TAS community come together to celebrate the special men in our lives.

To all of the special men in our TAS community,Happy Father’s Day!

We hope you feel as appreciated today as you are every day.

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT | What an incredible achievement for Year 4 student Maisie, who has qualified for the Queensland State Gymnastics Championships at Level 4, both as an individual and as a member of the Darling Downs team.

Even more impressively, Maisie will be the youngest competitor representing the Darling Downs at States!

At the recent Regional Championships, Maisie claimed silver in Beam, Bars, Floor, Vault and in the overall standings, earning her a place as the second-highest qualifier for the Darling Downs team.

Her achievement is even more remarkable given the fact her PCYC gymnastics squad, like so many local sporting groups, lost their equipment and training facility when the Toowoomba PCYC was lost in a fire earlier this year.

However, despite this setback and competing in just two competitions all year, Maisie has risen to the challenge and earned her place at States.

Well done Maisie! You've done the TAS community proud.

MORNING MELODIES CONCERT
We were superbly entertained by our Primary students this week at the Morning Melodies concert in the Chapel. There were a mixture of experienced and first-time performers and all students performed admirably, showing us what they have been working on this Term.

MOOTING | Our Year 11 Legal Studies students recently put their knowledge and skills to the test at the annual QUT (Queensland University of Technology) High School Moot Competition.

Up against high-quality competition, our students made their mark highlighted by Audrey who scored an impressive 98 points out of a possible 100, which was the highest individual score for the entire competition.

This wonderful effort is a wonderful reflection of the calibre, confidence and commitment of our Year 11 Legal Studies students.

PAUL MORTON CHORAL FESTIVAL | On Monday night, our Secondary Performance Choir and Aidan's Voices performed in the non-competitive Paul Morton Choral Festival at the The Empire Theatre.

We especially appreciate the students who were also in our Musical, Footloose, who had only just finished their series of performances.

Thank you to Downlands College for hosting this event.

Aidan's Voices sang 'Hamilton Highlights', with adjudicator John Rotar listing their 3 strengths as 1. Fabulous precision 2. Great consistency across every section 3. Just generally brilliant!

He also highlighted Year 12 student Tui's impressive tenor solo.

The Performance Choir then sang Queen's hit 'Don't Stop Me Now' with some fun choralography.

Their 3 strengths were 1. Super fun!! 2. Amazing choral technique 3. Generally, just Wow!!.

He also made special mention of our great tenor/bass tone, discipline, energy, precision, and sense of fun.

Our students then joined with a massed choir of several hundred students to sing the spectacular finale: 'Ad Astra'.

FOOTLOOSE GATHERING | Our community is still riding high after the success of our Secondary Musical 'Footloose'.

Among the many highlights of this year's Secondary Musical was the pre-performance get together co-hosted by the TAS Foundation and the Toowoomba Anglican School Association - Past Students.

It was fantastic to see so many staff, families and alumni gather for a memorable evening and an outstanding performance.
