Protect your loved ones this season.
The Queensland government has announced the rollout of free flu vaccinations for 2024, in a bid to help ease pressure on the state's healthcare system.
Over 700 Queenslanders have already been hospitalised this year from influenza, with 11 dying from the disease. Influenza vaccination rates for QLD dropped massively in 2023 compared to the years prior, with just a third of residents getting the jab last year.
The free vaccinations are available to anyone over 6 months old, with Queensland Premier Steven Miles hopeful that Queenslanders will get vaccinated before the flu season begins in May.
โItโs our hope that all eligible Queenslanders, especially the vulnerable, roll up their sleeve and get vaccinated. Itโs the best way to protect yourself and those around you this flu season,โ he said.
