This week is Reconciliation Week and here at Newtown Early Learning we are proud to be taking part in the Sea of Hearts movement. 💛❤️🖤

This year’s National Reconciliation Week theme, “All In,” reminds us that reconciliation is everyone’s responsibility and that we all have a part to play in building respectful relationships for a more united future.

Children, families and educators have each created their own heart, sharing through words, and creativity what reconciliation means to them. Together we’ve created a beautiful display of hearts that reflects our community’s voices and commitment to walking together.

Through this experience, children have been learning about belonging, respect, connection, and the importance of recognising and celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and perspectives. Children have shared meaningful conversations about kindness, inclusion and what it means to care for one another and our community.

Yesterday was WOW Day – Wear Orange Wednesday 🧡

WOW Day helps bring awareness to the incredible SES volunteers and the important work they do in our community to help keep everyone safe during emergencies and natural disasters.

We were very lucky to have a special SES visitor, Carolyn, join us at the centre yesterday. The children loved learning about some of the important jobs SES volunteers do, and they were very excited to receive some special colouring-in pages to extend their learning.

Experiences like these help teach children about community helpers, safety, kindness, and the importance of helping others. It also encourages children to build respect and appreciation for the amazing people who support our community every day.

🧁🍪 We're hosting a morning tea in support of Australia's Biggest Morning Tea!

Feel free to grab a plate on your way to work and enjoy some delicious treats or stay and have a yarn.

Australia's Biggest Morning Tea helps raise awareness and support for people impacted by cancer, while encouraging important conversations around cancer research, support and care within our community. 💛

Every single day, early childhood educators and support professionals across our community are doing something extraordinary.

They are wiping tears and building confidence. They are creating safe places, magical learning moments, belly laughs, muddy play, and lifelong memories. They are helping tiny humans grow into kind, curious, capable people — and honestly, that deserves a standing ovation. 👏

The 2026 Toowoomba Early Childhood Awards are now open for nominations, and this is your chance as parents, families, and community members to celebrate the incredible people who make a difference in children’s lives every day.

Maybe it’s:

Early childhood professionals do so much more than teach — they nurture confidence, belonging, resilience, and joy. Their work is big, beautiful, emotional, important, and often not celebrated nearly enough.

We are so excited to be welcoming Delivering Dental to our centre next week! 🦷✨

Delivering Dental provides children with the opportunity to have their teeth checked in an environment where they already feel safe, comfortable, and familiar.

Creating positive experiences around dental care from a young age is so important, and we are grateful to be able to offer this service to our families. 😁

We look forward to this special visit and supporting healthy little smiles!

🍎 This week is Teacher Appreciation Week, and we are so lucky to have three incredible teachers as part of our Newtown team — Miss Lee, Miss Manushi and Miss Kylie.

We thank them for the wealth of knowledge, passion, care and dedication they bring to our children’s learning journey each and every day. Their commitment to nurturing young minds and supporting our team does not go unnoticed, and we truly appreciate all that they do!

A huge thank you to all of our wonderful mums, grandmothers and special loved ones who joined us for our Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea celebration today. 💐

What a delightful afternoon it was, filled with special moments and making beautiful memories together. The children loved celebrating the amazing women in their lives and we are so grateful to everyone who came along and made the afternoon so special.

A special shout out and thank you to Wippell's Massage Therapy and Flash Personal Training for generously donating vouchers for our celebration — your support is so appreciated! 💕

We would also like to give a huge shout out to one of our wonderful centre families for kindly donating their time, creativity and skills to create our amazing photo backdrop for the event. It truly made the afternoon extra special and created the perfect space for so many beautiful memories to be captured. 📸✨
