Thank you so much to everyone who came along and celebrated our Father’s Day Afternoon Tea with us yesterday! 🥰

It means so much to the children to have their dads, grandfathers, uncles, special people and loved ones come along, join in the activities and spend this special time with them. Watching the children proudly share these moments with you was absolutely beautiful!

🎉 Happy Educators’ Day! 🎉

Today we celebrate the incredible educators who make such a difference in the lives of our children every single day.

Early childhood education is so much more than caring for children. It’s about building relationships, creating a sense of belonging, nurturing curiosity, supporting big emotions, encouraging independence and helping children discover who they are and what they can do.

To our amazing team at Newtown Early Learning — thank you for the patience, kindness, creativity, laughter and dedication you bring to our centre each day. Thank you for getting down on the floor, joining in the play, answering endless questions, wiping tears, celebrating milestones and creating beautiful memories with our children.

❤️ Red Nose Day ❤️

Today is Red Nose Day, a wonderful opportunity to pause and review our children’s sleep environments and safe sleep practices.

Take a few minutes to check your child’s sleep space and ask yourself:
🛏️ Is their sleep environment safe and free from hazards?
🧸 Are there any unnecessary items in their sleep space?
🌡️ Are they dressed appropriately for the temperature?
😴 Are you following safe sleep recommendations for their age?

Small checks can make a big difference. Red Nose Australia provides trusted information and resources to help families create safe sleep environments for babies and young children.

This week is Science Week — a wonderful opportunity for children to be curious and investigate the world around them! 🔍

Through everyday experiences and play, children are developing important skills such as problem-solving, predicting, observing, experimenting, communicating ideas and developing an understanding of how things work.
Science doesn’t need to be complicated!
Be curious together! Ask your child “What do you think will happen?” and “Why do you think it happened?”
Because sometimes the best learning begins with a simple “I wonder…”

A heartfelt thank you to all of our wonderful families for your generous donations collected throughout July for our Pyjama Day month supporting of Bags of Hope.

Yesterday, we welcomed the lovely Jules, who came to collect your donations. These items will be used to create backpacks for children entering foster care, helping to provide them with comfort and essential belongings during a significant time in their lives.

Through this community initiative, our children are learning about kindness, empathy, and the importance of helping others.

Thank you for helping us to model compassion and generosity . Together, we are helping children learn that even small acts of kindness can have a lasting impact.

💙 A huge shout-out and heartfelt thank you to Concordia Lutheran College for their incredibly generous donation of resources to our Newtown center!

We are so grateful for your kindness and support. These wonderful resources have already found a place in our learning environments, and the children have absolutely loved exploring and enjoying them.

Community partnerships like these make such a positive difference, helping us create rich, engaging learning experiences for our children every day.

✨ What an incredible week of learning and celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures ✨

Throughout NAIDOC Week, the children have explored Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through art, storytelling, music, sensory play and meaningful conversations. These experiences have helped build respect, curiosity and a deeper appreciation for Australia's First Nations peoples and cultures.
