Only 10 more sleeps until the special “Wild West Wonderland” at Chiselhurst Kindergarten

Last week the Banksia group transformed our space into their very own movie theatre — completely child-led from start to finish!

The children came up with all the ideas themselves: deciding what we needed, writing seat numbers on the chairs so everyone knew where to sit, creating a big movie screen filled with drawings of their favourite films, and even making “popcorn” from leaves and macadamia nuts

They carefully wrote tickets for each guest and proudly welcomed everyone into the cinema. The best part? Every single child sat quietly and completely engaged during the movie showing — just like a real cinema experience!

Such a wonderful display of creativity, collaboration, imagination and problem solving ⭐

The Acacia children had an amazing time with our visit from Wild Call, getting up close with some incredible Australian animals. We loved learning about them, giving them a gentle touch, and meeting everyone’s favourite… the snake!

Back in the playground, we collected fallen leaves and turned them into beautiful window collages using contact paper. Nature + creativity = the perfect combo!

Today, the Daisy children shared a beautiful and memorable Mother’s Morning with their mums! Together, we enjoyed a range of fun experiences, including threading necklaces and bracelets, reading stories side by side, and sharing relaxing self-care moments such as brushing mums’ hair and giving gentle hand massages with hand cream.

We also had lots of fun outdoors taking part in an exciting science experiment before coming together to enjoy a delicious morning tea and cake. It was a lovely morning filled with laughter, connection, and special memories as we celebrated our wonderful mums.

Some of the children shared what they enjoyed most about the special morning:

• “I liked rubbing cream on her hands and brushing her hair”
• “I liked playing at the puzzles and painting on the easels”
• “I liked singing songs and giving her flowers”

We hope all of our mums have a wonderful Mother’s Day on Sunday and enjoy their very special day surrounded by love and happiness!

This week we were visited by Dion and Phil who delivered an inspiring indigenous and performance! As the children's interest in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives continues to grow.

Today, the Casuarina children explored dot painting and observational drawings of bush flowers, engaging thoughtfully with nature and culture. These experiences build respect, deepen understanding, and inspire creativity. We are so proud of their engagement and beautiful artwork.
