Congratulations to our Queensland Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Foundation (QATSIF) students on their graduation!

The ceremony hosted by UniSQ celebrated culture through dance, song, art and poetry. Graduates also received words of encouragement from Aunty Ruth Hegarty, QATSIF Founding Patron, and other presenters, who inspired them to dream big and reach their full potential.

We are incredibly proud of our QATSIF graduates and all they have achieved. It was wonderful to celebrate this milestone together, and we thank the parents and staff members who supported our students on their journey.

Happy Father’s Day to all of the dads and father figures in our St Joseph’s community! 💙

Earlier this week, we were delighted to welcome families for our Father’s Day Celebration, with breakfast and a special liturgy shared together.

It was wonderful to celebrate with so many members of our community and recognise the important role fathers and father figures play in the lives of our young people.

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to our students, staff and community members who helped make the morning so special.

Our Hospitality students put their skills into action this week, hosting a beautiful High Tea as the culminating event of two years of Hospitality study.

From planning the menu and preparing each dish to setting the tables, welcoming guests and providing thoughtful service, students took responsibility for the full experience – and the results were impressive.

We were delighted to welcome parishioners from St Patrick’s Cathedral, who generously give their time in service of the local parish community, along with members of the Mission and Identity Team from Toowoomba Catholic Schools Office.

A lovely occasion, and a wonderful chance for our students to showcase just how much skill, confidence and care goes into great hospitality.

Yesterday, students from our Service Group attended the Feast of Mary of the Southern Cross at St Patrick's Cathedral, joining parishioners and students from across the Diocese for this special occasion.

Our College choir and musicians also played an important part in the Mass, providing music throughout the celebration.

It was a valuable opportunity for our students to experience the wider Church community, take part in a significant diocesan gathering, and recognise their own place within a faith community that extends well beyond our College.

Last Friday, our College community celebrated Wear It Purple Day, a national movement supporting safe and inclusive environments where young people feel seen, valued and respected.

At lunchtime, students added their handprints to our Purple Door. Together, the handprints became a visual representation of the individuality within our community and the importance of ensuring every person feels respected, valued and welcome.

This connects closely with our College values of Respect and Dignity – respecting everyone in our community and recognising the value each individual brings.

We also welcomed representatives from Darling Downs Health, headspace Toowoomba and Youth Connect, who connected with students and shared information about the support services available to young people.

Founded in 2010 in response to the bullying, discrimination and exclusion experienced by LGBTQIA+SB young people, Wear It Purple has grown into a national movement that promotes visibility, support and inclusion.

This week, our College has been celebrating Book Week with a vibrant program of library activities, creative challenges and, of course, our much-anticipated Costume Parade.

Throughout the week, students immersed themselves in book-inspired competitions and hands-on activities, before the festivities culminated in a colourful parade of beloved characters and imaginative creations.

From timeless classics to wonderfully inventive costumes, it was fantastic to see so many students and staff embracing the spirit of Book Week.

Congratulations to our costume winners, and a big thank you to our library team for all the creativity, enthusiasm and dedication that made this year's celebrations such a success.
