The St Mary’s College Old Boys' Association acknowledges with sadness the passing of esteemed Old Boy Vincent "Vince" Lester OAM.
Vince maintained a strong connection with the College throughout his life, regularly attending our ANZAC Day Liturgy and Old Boys gatherings. His continued support of the St Mary’s community was greatly appreciated, and his presence at College events reflected his enduring pride in being an Old Boy.
A respected public servant, Vince served as a member of the Queensland Parliament for 30 years and held a number of ministerial portfolios throughout his distinguished career. In recognition of his service to the community and local government, he was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2006. His achievements are recognised in the Hall of Fame at the Edmund Rice Cultural Centre.
On behalf of the St Mary’s College community, we extend our sincere condolences to Vince’s family, friends, and fellow Old Boys during this difficult time.
