The week of wet weather has certainly not dampened the spirits of the Holy Name Students! It was wonderful to see the students playing together so beautifully!
Our lunchtime Craft Club also made some beautiful paper flowers.

We also participated in the online live stream event - National Simultaneous Storytime of "Luna Roo". This was followed up by our wonderful Year 6 students organising a "Soccer Shoot Out" for the Prep-Year 2 classes! Have a great weekend everyone!

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. The 2026 theme is All In, a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.

Reconciliation will not happen by itself, we must be all in for reconciliation.

On Harmony Day 2025, Achol Thiong sent in a traditional South Sudanese dessert (Awalawala) for her daughters to share with their classmates. It gave Mrs Cavanagh the idea to create a multi-cultural cookbook of the family favourites of our families.

In 2026, we proudly launched "A Taste of Mercy: Welcoming All to the Table" - a celebration of the rich cultural and culinary diversity of the Holy Name School community. Mrs Cavanagh made some Awalawala for her family, and brought some in for Achol to give the seal of approval. What recipes have you tried so far? Cookbooks available from the Holy Name School Office for $25.
