Who says 3 is too young to start flight training? ✈️

Here at Aerotec QLD we believe it’s never too early to start developing an appreciation for aviation…. although we draw the line at issuing a pilot licence just yet!

Little Hunter had his first aviation briefing, learning all about the important bits that make an aeroplane go where you want it to go - the flight controls!

Then came the really important part - having a go at the controls of our CT4B trainer.

He handled it so well that Mum and Dad decided he’d earned a trip to the Aerodrome Park afterwards. Clearly, the training schedule includes flight time AND play time!

Future pilot? We think so!

Great to see Nick out and about on his solo Nav this morning.

A pleasure to meet Nick this morning as I refuelled this 1974 Pacific Aerospace CT4/B which belongs to Aerotec Queensland, based in Toowoomba Qld. Nick is presently completing his PPL but would like to go on to do his CPL. Good luck with everything Nick.

For anyone interested in a slice of Australian aviation history, or who would like to know a little more about Guido Zuccoli, here's a glimpse into the life of a remarkable aviator.

Guido was a pioneer of the Australian warbird movement, an internationally respected aerobatic pilot, engineer, aircraft restorer, and mentor. He was selected as one of the first group of pilots to represent Australia at the World Aerobatic Championships, became the first Australian to compete at the Reno Air Races, and helped preserve the flying heritage that so many of us enjoy today. His contributions were recognised by the Northern Territory, which honoured him by naming the Palmerston suburb of 'Zuccoli' after him.

One thing's for certain… I'll never be as cool as Guido, flying aerobatics over the Northern Territory in an open-cockpit aircraft, no helmet—just a pair of sunnies! 😎✈️

Congratulations are in order for Nic Galea on the successful completion of his Commercial Pilot's Licence. Nic embarked on this journey with Matt, starting with his inaugural flight during his High School years. Well done, Nic, your focus and determination is exemplary.

Rufus is hard at work supervising the workshop and making sure everything is "cool bananas" for this year's Brass Monkeys Formation Weekend!

Brass Monkeys 26 kicks off on June 26th, and excitement is definitely building amongst all those involved.

Keep your eyes skyward over Toowoomba and surrounding regions, as several CT-4 Airtrainers, CA-25 Winjeels, a Yak-52, and a Victa Airtourer come in from all parts of Australia to join in the fun. Pilots and aircraft are making the journey from as far afield as Perth, Mareeba, Jindabyne, and Newcastle—and, unbelievably, one participant is even travelling from Alaska in the USA! That's a lot of air miles for a troop of aviation enthusiasts determined to have a great weekend.

The skies will be full of aerial magic as pilots gather for a weekend of formation flying, friendship, and aviation adventures. We can't wait to welcome everyone to Toowoomba for another memorable Brass Monkeys weekend!
