Dear Toowoomba North State School community (),

I would like to formally invite our Teacher Aides (along with the staff, parents/carers and students) to the Hall this morning (our usual 8:30am briefing in the Hall) for a special presentation as part of Teacher Aide Appreciation Week. Our Teacher Aides (along with TAs in ALL schools) work hard every day to support our students to reach their maximum potential. Our School Captains and Sport Captains will be presenting certificates to our Teacher Aides to show our gratitude for their support towards our Toowoomba North State School learning community. Dear Parents/Carers of Prep-3 students at Toowoomba North State School,

Thursday September 10 from 1pm, our students have the great opportunity to watch a performance ‘My Two Blankets’. This is a live theatre incursion. This will be held in our Multi-Purpose Hall. There is no cost.

Parents/Carers, as this is at school and there is no cost – this will be an ‘opt-out’ arrangement. This means that if you (parents/carers) do not want your child to participate, please reply to this email. Non-participating students will go to a Year 4, 5 or 6 classroom throughout the time.

This is set to be a great time for our students. Thank you and take care.

BOOK WEEK PARADE - FRIDAY AUGUST 28 - Congratulations to all of our award winners (Student of the Week, Golden Ticket, Learning Rocket, 1st/2nd/3rd Prize Winners of Book Week Best Dressed, Overall Best Dressed for the school and winner of Trevor Watts ' prize of $30 Book Tree Voucher, Indy!). We are pleased to provide you with information and booking details for our upcoming Term 3 2026 Parent/Teacher Interviews. These will be held in Week 10 on Tuesday September 15 (2026) between 2:45pm and 5pm (with each interview duration being 10 minutes). Please see poster below for more details.

Book Week Dress Up Day is today! Wear a costume/shirt/accessory of your favourite book! Join the fun on Parade this morning where we will be giving prizes for best dressed (including a whole school best dressed prize donated by our local state member Trevor Watts MP). Dear Toowoomba North State School community (),

As part of our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework that we are working on embedding consistently across our school, this week (Week 7) our behaviour focus is - We are Learners: We play fairly, particularly when we are playing soccer and handball. Each class will be talking about ‘rules’ that everyone must follow when we play soccer and handball. We will aim to make a poster to put up in areas so everyone is aware of the rules.

The above focus has been chosen due to a number of occurrences where there have been verbal and physical disagreements over rules, particularly when playing soccer and handball. Staff have discussed this by analysing school behaviour data and observed trends.

The poster below shows what input has been received from classrooms, so far. Each class will give Mr Loughland their ideas and it will be incorporated into a poster. We aim to then have a poster to hang in areas where Handball and Soccer are played most frequently. This will ensure that everyone knows the rules, everyone is on a level playing field, we are all safe, respectful and treat each other with dignity and kindness, even when we are playing competitive games.

Parents, Carers, Community – do you have any ideas that you would like to see incorporated into a poster of Soccer and Handball rules for TNSS? If you do, please reply to Mr L’s email or comment below in the Facebook post. Everyone’s input is important to ensuring our students have a solid guide for these two very popular games (played during play times 10:45-11:15am & 1pm-1:20pm Mon-Fri).
