Today, we celebrate the incredible educators who make Goodstart Drayton such a special place to learn, grow, and belong.

Every day, our educators invest so much of themselves into the lives of the children and families in our centre. They bring patience, kindness, creativity, dedication, and unwavering support, creating meaningful relationships that help children feel safe, valued, and confident to explore their world.

From comforting cuddles and encouraging words to inspiring learning experiences and celebrating milestones, our team goes above and beyond to make a positive difference in the lives of those around them. The impact they have extends far beyond the classroom and into the hearts of the children and families they support.

To our amazing educators, thank you for your passion, commitment, and the care you show each and every day. We are so grateful for everything you do and incredibly proud of the difference you make in our community.

Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.

✨ BIG wings, BIG imaginations! 🦋🌈
There’s something magical about seeing children turn simple recycled materials into something truly beautiful. 💚

Our little artists created these gorgeous butterfly wings from recycled cardboard and colourful cellophane, then headed outside to watch the sunlight shine through their very own “stained glass” creations. ☀️🦋

It’s moments like these that make learning so special — creative, hands-on, sustainable and full of wonder. 🌿✨

The research is clear 📚 reading aloud is one of the most powerful things we can do for our children.

When we read with a child, we’re doing far more than sharing a story. We’re building the foundations for language, confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.

Decades of research shows that children who are read to regularly:

💛 Build stronger language skills
Hearing rich varied language in books exposes children to far more words than everyday conversation alone. This growing vocabulary helps them understand, communicate and make sense of the world.

💛 Develop early literacy skills long before they learn to read
Through stories, children learn how books work – that print carries meaning, that pages turn left to right, and that stories have a beginning, middle and end. These early understandings make learning to read feel familiar and exciting.

💛 Strengthen phonological awareness
Rhymes, rhythms and playful sounds help children hear the building blocks of language.

💛 Grow their comprehension and thinking skills
Talking together about a story, predicting what might happen, wondering how a character feels, and connecting events to real life helps children develop memory, problem-solving, and higher-order thinking.

🌊🐠 Something FIN-tastic has happened in Kindy! 🐠🌊
Over the weekend, our Kindy Room had a little makeover and is now sporting brand-new flooring! ✨ We think it looks absolutely SEA-sational and we can't wait for our families to come and check it out.
While our new floors are making waves, our Kindy children have been diving deep into an amazing Under the Sea adventure. 🐙🐢🌏 They've been busy exploring ocean animals, learning about undersea volcanoes, discovering the impact of pollution on our oceans, and discussing ways we can all help protect our environment.
The best part? We've been turning trash into treasure! ♻️💙 Using recycled materials, our clever little learners have been creating fun and engaging resources, proving that a little imagination can go a long way in caring for our planet.

Simply put, it means that our purpose always comes before profit. Every dollar we make is reinvested back into our centres, to provide children with enriching and safe learning environments.
