☀️ A wonderful sunny morning for our Open Day! ☀️

So great to meet and greet new and returning families. We hope you had a fun morning exploring our Kindy, chatting to staff and that you spotted some of our papermates hidden around the playground and classroom. 🍃💙🍎⭐️

Two weeks ago, our Possum and Kookaburra teachers attended training on Rhythm and Movement for Self-Regulation (RAMSR). 🎶

RAMSR is an evidence based program developed at QUT to build young children’s self-control, working memory, and emotional regulation through structured, playful music and movement activities. 🧠

Teachers have already begun incorporating parts of the program into our groups and are excited to share more with children and families. 💚

✨Celebrating Under 8’s Week✨
This year’s theme was ‘Celebrating 70 years of Play across the Generations.’ We asked families to share some of their favourite childhood games and toys, took a look at and played some games from the past (hopscotch, spinners, Ring a Roses) and shared our favourite toys and games from the present. 🧸🎠👬👭🎲🚂

🏆 Winner Winner 🥇 Congrats to the Possum’s and Kookaburra’s for being awarded FIRST PLACE for their joint artwork ‘Grand Parade at the Ipswich Show’. Entering an artwork at our local show is a long standing tradition at Glebe Road Kindy and we delight in the process just as much as the result. Congrats again to the children for their hard work, you should be very proud! And if you are at the show this weekend make sure to go and take a look at the art section and see if you can spot ours on display. 🖼️

💖 Happy Mother’s Day 💖
The Kookaburra’s had a wonderful time celebrating their Mum’s and special loved ones on Friday. We can’t wait to do it all again with the Possum Group tomorrow. We hope all the Mum’s, Grand-Mum’s and special women in our lives are feeling extra loved today. 💕

We hope our Kindy Families had a safe and enjoyable Easter Break. 🐰 We are looking forward to welcoming back our Possum Group tomorrow and our Kookaburra Group Thursday. Helpful Honeybee has been busy getting our room ready for Term 2, can you spot him? 🐝

We’ve been exploring colour through art, songs, stories, experiments and lots and lots of water play! 💦 🌈 🧑‍🔬
We love testing out our ideas and seeing what happens in these hands on and fun experiences led by both teachers and children. ❤️💛🩷💚💜🧡💙

The Possum Group were very excited to discover this not so little guy hiding in our Kindy shed earlier in the week. 🐸 After some discussion he was safely placed in one of our trees, only for the Kookaburra Group to find - what we assume was the same frog - hiding in one of our teapots in the shed later in the week! We wonder if he will turn up again this week? 💭

💖 What Makes Your Heart Happy? 💖
One of our favourite books to share at the start of the year is In My Heart: A Book of Feelings by Jo Witek. It always prompts lots of heart felt discussions about different feelings and we love to hear from the children what makes their heart feel happy. 💛
