Yesterday our Glennie hockey girls had the incredible opportunity to play against a travelling team from St Brendan’s College, Argentina. It was a fantastic cultural experience, with both teams showing great spirit and skill on the field. St Brendan’s proved to be amazing athletes and while the Glennie girls fought hard, the match ended in a narrow 1 – 0 loss. We thank St Brendan‘s for the opportunity to share in such a memorable game and wish them all the best for the rest of their tour.

Glennie was proudly represented by 36 athletes at the 13 to 19 years Darling Downs Track and Field trials last week. From this group, an incredible 23 girls were selected to compete in a total of 66 events at the State Championships - the highest number of selections of any school in the Darling Downs region. We are so proud of all our athletes for their hard work, determination and achievements, and we wish those heading to States the very best of luck.

Yesterday we were excited to welcome Olympics Unleashed to Glennie, where our Year 4, 5 and 6 students took part in an inspiring presentation. To mark the 25th anniversary of the Sydney Olympics, we were fortunate to hear from swimmer Amelia Weber, boxer Brad H**e, track cyclist Kristina Clonan and hockey star Brent Livermore. They shared their stories about resilience, goal setting and the importance of dreaming big, leaving our girls motivated to chase their own goals with confidence.

Our Glennie Junior Netball team had a fantastic day at the Primary Schools Gala Day! The girls showed great skill across the court with strong attacking play, solid defence and plenty of intercepts throughout the centre. Their teamwork and determination were rewarded with a well-deserved third place finish. A big thank you to Mrs. Brighton for coaching and supporting the girls throughout the day. We are very proud of the way our team represented Glennie!

Three Glennie girls recently represented the School at the Australian Cross Country Championships. Caitlyn, Steph and Rose ran strong races with Caitlyn achieving an outstanding 5th place in the U18 race. We are extremely proud of all three girls for the effort, determination and the way they represented Glennie on the national stage!

Big week of Rugby last week. On Wednesday, just 48 hours after returning from Western 7s, we co-hosted Round 3 of the Super-Series 7s. The girls bounced back brilliantly — U14s finished 2nd, U16s came 3rd, and our Opens claimed their 3rd straight win.
Now eyes forward to this weekend and the Selena Worsley Cup.
