One thing I will always protect in my little Zumba community is the feeling that you are welcome exactly as you are. You do not need to already be fit, coordinated or confident to walk through the door.
Most of us are just normal people trying to look after our bodies, our minds and our wellbeing while having a laugh along the way.
No pressure to be perfect. Just movement, music, smiles and support. 🫶💕

People often see the instructor at the front of the class and assume confidence has always come naturally. You see me as funny and carefree.
But honestly? It hasn’t.
I’ve danced from a really young age from ballroom and line dancing through to studying performing arts at college. Dance and music have always been a huge part of my life. They’ve always been my passion.
But while studying performing arts, I was told I wasn’t the “right build” to be a dancer.
At that age, hearing something like that really sticks with you. It hits deep. Being told those moves don’t look right because of your build.
It knocked my self-esteem massively and made me question myself and my confidence for a long time. Instead of enjoying dancing fully, I became very aware of how I looked and worried about not fitting the image people expected.
I’ve also experienced bullying for a huge part of my life, so I know what it feels like to doubt yourself, compare yourself to others and walk into spaces already feeling nervous or not good enough.
And I think that’s exactly why I teach the way I do now ❤️💃💃
Because I never want anybody to feel like they have to look a certain way, be super fit or know exactly what they’re doing before coming to class.
Over the last four years, Zumba has become my speciality format and something I’m truly passionate about 💃✨

One of the biggest misconceptions about fitness classes is that you need confidence before you start.
You don’t.
Confidence is often something that grows AFTER you walk through the door. It takes time. But that’s the best part seeing you grow.
That’s why my classes are built around:
✨ inclusivity
✨ encouragement
✨ fun
✨ community
✨ movement that feels good
Of course we burn calories and get a full body workout 🔥
But for me, it’s also about:
❤️ mental wellbeing
❤️ friendships
❤️ confidence
❤️ helping people feel part of something
Some people come for fitness.
Some come to get stronger.
Some just need an hour where they can switch off from life for a bit.
And every single reason is valid 💜
So if you’ve ever thought:
“I’m not fit enough.”
“I can’t dance.”
“I’ll look silly.”
“I won’t know anybody.”
