Winter Warmth Appeal 🫶

Flexi is proud to continue its valued partnership with Civic Assist through their annual Winter Warmth Appeal. Flexi students had the wonderful opportunity to visit Civic Assist and select three items of winter clothing along with a blanket or doona. These practical supports will help our young people stay warm and comfortable during the cooler months ahead.

Experiences like this not only meet immediate needs but also strengthen connections within our local community. We are grateful for the care and generosity shown to our students.

A special thank you to Helen and the Civic Assist team, who went above and beyond by opening especially for our Year 10 cohort. Your kindness and ongoing support make a real difference.

Good morning & welcome to Week 9️⃣
Machines are getting smarter.
The thing they can't do? Care.
Checking in, standing up, saying something and paying attention - that's human work, your work, and it matters now more than ever.

On Tuesday and Wednesday morning of Week 7, Dave from Small Steps for Hannah facilitated the HALT program with our Year 10 students. This program applies an age-appropriate approach to investing in young people as champions of safe and equal relationships. Through this workshop, students were equipped with practical skills and knowledge to build respectful connections in all areas of their lives.
Thank you so much Dave for facilitating this program with our students.

The Flexi community embraced Reconciliation Week with beading, painting and inspiring talks from two of our Year 12 students, giving everyone a chance to reflect on our shared histories. Some students also visited our mainstream campus to see the Reconciliation Week Art Gallery, which showcased incredible artworks celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.
A special shoutout to Year 11 student Allira for her beautiful contribution to the gallery!

This week, we celebrate Chaplaincy Week and recognise the wonderful contribution of Chappy Myles to our Toowoomba Flexi School community.

Chappy Myles is an instrumental part of the Flexi Program, providing support to our young people each and every day. His joy, kindness, and generosity shine through in everything he does. Whether he is offering a helping hand, a listening ear, or encouragement when it is needed most, Chappy Myles is always willing to help.

His work in supporting our young people and his exceptional contribution to the mentoring program have made a lasting impact, and we are incredibly grateful for all he does!

Good morning & welcome to Week 7
Struggling? Say something. See someone struggling? Say something.
We are not meant to deal with everything in our lives alone.
Every single person needs help sometimes, and right now? Your support might be exactly what someone near you needs.

Congratulations to Year 10 student Elijah! 👏

Following a successful Work Experience placement earlier this term, Elijah has officially commenced a school-based apprenticeship with Meat Cellar.

Elijah will be undertaking a Certificate III in Meat Processing (Retail Butcher) as he works towards his goal of becoming a qualified butcher. It’s fantastic to see him already building industry skills and experience so early in his career journey.

We are incredibly proud of Elijah for taking on this exciting opportunity and wish him every success in this next chapter!
