Baking lemon merengue pies, shield construction and learning about perspective and false memories through magic tricks … all part of our normal day to day at Omni!!

Week 1, and we’re straight back into it! We had Eli from getting footage and interviews with our staff and students. It’s so exciting that we have such an incredible young person to lead us through this process and who understands that we want to capture an authentic version of Omni!

Our Juniors got straight into designing and creating, starting with the building a robotic hand challenge. Some groups modelled the hand on their own, looking at the different joints and movements, others modelled on a claw machine style to make picking things up easier. It is always so incredible to see how differently the end products turn out, even when using the same materials, instructions and time!

We’re excited too, to now have a skeleton enrolled at Omni, name to be advised post naming competition!! The puns were flowing thick and fast when the students were introduced to the skeleton; it’s sure to be handy for our Science learning 😉

And that’s a wrap!! Big kudos to year 10 student, Riley, who organised the Omni team, motivated and checked in on each participant and rallied support for us; all part of his school project. The Push Up Challenge raises awareness and funds for youth mental health and we’re proud to have been part of it this year

A fun way to end the term!

Along with bouldering at Urban Climb Milton, boxing with Westside Boxing Club, our students enjoy tennis as part of our physical activities
