Year 9&10 students at Omni have been learning about Justice in HEArts (Humanities, English and the Arts) this term. We have visited the Holocaust Museum and heard from Principal Meg about refugee rights. Today we had a guest speaker, Freddie, who shared her story from seeking protection during the war, in Holland, to coming to Australia; becoming the first female in her family to attend University. She spoke about her role as a public servant in the Immigration Department to her involvement in refugee/asylum seeker advocacy. She’s still going strong in her 80s and was so inspirational, empowering our students to speak up and educate themselves on issues - the importance of fact checking and ‘paying it forward’. Thank you Freddie!!

Performance 2.0. It’s incredible how amazing our students can be, when given a platform to explore their talents rather than a box to fit into, or given an achievement standard to meet. So incredibly proud of the risk taking, the problem solving, the commitment and community building that flowed through this experience. A Night In The Museum - where our students brought history alive!

Are you considering Omni for your young person? Would you like to hear who we are for and what we offer?
What better source of information than our students?!?
We have limited spaces available for 2026 and 2027

An amazing experience for our Juniors today - visiting SPARQ-ed (Students Performing Advanced Research Queensland – Education). This is a unique biomedical educational program for school students and is a partnership between the Translational Research Institute (TRI) and the Queensland Government through the Department of Education. Students had a lot of fun and learnt a lot in these amazing facilities

A great market experience today for our entrepreneurial students who have been busy creating art, stickers and jewellery. So cool to see them selling their work and feeling proud of their creations.

Our community is proud to see Meg being recognised for starting our fabulous school … please vote if you’d like to support her in this nomination. (Our year 9/10 students were excited to see the display on Level 1, Toowong Village, when they went out at break time today)

Gong Xi Fa Cai 恭喜发财
Thanks to teacher, Heidi, for organising a Year of the Fire Horse gift for our students, and student, Jett, for teaching us how to wish each other a prosperous New Year! We hope that this Year of the Horse is a safe and enjoyable one for our Omni community.
It was fun finding out the year each of us were born in; we have a lot of ‘metal rabbits!’ (And some wet dragons … water dragons) 🐉
