Last day of Term 2! So hard to believe. 😂 Just a reminder there are no scheduled sessions for us over the school holiday break - we run by appointment only. Please get in touch if you would like to organise a session.

☆☆☆ Magnetic Tiles - Fine Motor ☆☆☆

It's been a while since I've posted any home learning activities. Life's been pretty busy I guess! 🤪

This one came about by accident. We were building cars using our Connetix Tiles, and came up with a bus using piles of stacked window tiles. Add some wooden people and you've got a great little activity. Mr.1 enjoyed putting the people in & taking them out (over & over 😂). Mr.5 enjoyed seeing how many people he could fit in each bus & driving it around. This was actually a great activity for my eldest as he is needing a bit of extra help with fine motor skills at the moment. So this was a win win for both of them! 🙌

How great are these great activity books put together by Victoria Police.

There's a book for pre-schoolers & for primary aged students. Heaps of kid friendly info like what to do in an emergency, dialing 000 etc, as well as colouring, mazes & puzzles.

Free to download & print - definitely worth a look for all kids. 👮‍♂️🚔👮‍♀️🚔

I was so excited to give these Hand & Surface Santiser sprays from Mask Co. a try. They have been amazing for sanitizing between lessons, as well as for cleaning things like books, whiteboards, flashcards & textas between students. The kid friendly flavours definitely make it less overwhelming, & a lot more fun for students. The kids fave has definitely been pink marshmallow, but I have to say I love the cucumber & melon. 🤗

Best part is they are a Aussie company based in Byron Bay. 🙌 🇦🇺

For those of you who don't know, my baby is now 1 (not sure how that happened 😱😭), which means I am back out tutoring in 2022! 🥳
It's so good being able to see students in person and get back to tutoring face to face (finally!).

Please get in touch if you are interested in a spot for your primary aged child in Term 1.

So it's been a while since I have updated my socials, but with kids back to school this week I wanted to provide a bit of an update.

The last 2 years have been quite tough business wise, as we have battled coming in and out of lockdowns. This meant short stints of in home lessons, and running online sessions with those students who were keen. It has also been challenging keeping tutors on board and finding new people when there hasn't been much work.

Because of this, I have decided to make a few slight changes to what we offer at the moment. I have decided to go back to what I know best, and that's all things primary school . So in 2022 we will be running lessons for PRIMARY AGED STUDENTS ONLY. We will also bringing in our location radius a bit, and will no longer be servicing past the Mornington/Mt. Eliza area. Southern end areas remains unchanged.

Apologies to those with older students who we can't help at the moment, but looking forward to a more consistent year of school & lessons in 2022.

Well back into Lockdown we go... Can't believe we are up to #6, before #5 was even really over (considering we were still not allowed visitors into homes). 😬

I feel so so bad for all those kids back to remote learning, and for the parents trying to work from home & juggle it all. I feel bad for our students who have only had one week of in home lessons in Term 3, after also missing out on three weeks at the end of Term 2. This makes it so hard for our students to have any consistency with their tutor whatsoever.

So again - NO in home lessons for the duration of the 7 day lockdown (& possibly beyond that). We will be running online lessons only during this time. Please contact Lauren or your tutor to organise an online session, otherwise all other lessons will be cancelled. 😥

So from this struggling micro-business, let's hope this lockdown is a short one. 🤞 Take care everyone. Xo

*** Magnetic Tile Letter Activity ***

We are loving our new FREE Alphabet Flashcards from Connetix Tiles. They have been a perfect activity to keep Mr.4 busy this week during lockdown. The pictures are easy to follow, & great for letter learning. Although he does know letters by name already, we are now starting to talk about the sounds each letter makes, and find words that start with each letter. 🤗 🔠

I am so glad I bought a set of these tiles a few months ago, they have been used for endless building of tunnels, bridges, towers & roads and are played with daily. You can get the free alphabet cards simply by signing up to their email list.

As you are all aware we are now into our second week of lockdown. So again, all in home lessons have been cancelled. Our tutors are available for online lessons, please contact myself or your tutor to arrange this.
