Birdgirl is currently on her way home to Melbourne after walking across Australia from Perth. She's raising awareness for the arts & funds for Grow the Music & Slamtidote.

The funds will mean so much to us, as it allows us to continue to reach the artists who may not otherwise get the opportunities to record & perform as well as preserve languages & archive stories. 🎤🎧

Come to the Welcome Home Birdgirl Concert with us on Sunday 6th September at Northcote Social Club. Line up includes: BIRDGIRL, Shane Howard (Goanna), Bart Willoughby, Tjimba Possum Burns, I.Rugamba, Cath Rutten & the Obvious Choice and poets from Slamtidote!! 🥁🎸

If you have any instruments at home that you aren't using and would like to donate, bring it along to donate it on the night and get yourself a cheaper ticket.

is currently walking around 3125kms across Australia to raise $10,000 for and $10,000 for 🫶

This money for us, goes straight back into what we do every day - making an impact in communities through music 🎶

In her words:
“The arts have not been prioritised as a necessity to the majority of Australians. For too long, the arts have been defunded, education relating to the arts has been made increasingly inaccessible and our governments have proven that unless you come from a place of privilege — your story doesn’t deserve to be heard. I want to help combat this, and help increase opportunities for people across this beautiful country.”

This week we're throwing it back to one of our favourite songs from one of our favourite people... Vera Bon.

Vera has been part of the Grow the Music family from the very beginning – an incredible songwriter, teacher, collaborator and Co-Founder whose generosity and passion have helped shape so much of what we do.

This song is a beautiful reminder that life is precious, family is everything, and the connections we nurture are what carry us through. Music has a way of helping us feel the emotions we sometimes push aside, reminding us to slow down, listen and hold our loved ones close.

And here's the exciting bit... Vera and Roman are playing a very special one-off Mid North Coast show this Saturday! If you've never had the chance to experience their music live, this is one of those moments you won't want to miss.

Come along, support incredible local artists, reconnect with what matters, and celebrate the power of music to bring us together.
