What to pack your child for a fun filled day at Active OOSH!

25/09/2026

School Holidays are here! ☀️

What to pack each day for OOSH:
🧢 Hat: sun safety first!
🍎 A full lunch box: please pack enough for a full day, as we are very active!
💧 A full drink bottle: staying hydrated is important!
👕 A spare change of clothes: just in case we get stuck into some extra messy, creative or adventurous fun! 🎨💦
👟 Closed-in shoes: essential for all activities & for everyone’s safety. Crocs, slides & thongs are a no-go! 🚫
💊 Medication: If your child requires medication, please make sure it is in date, clearly labelled (tablets in a webster pack) & accompanied by the appropriate documentation/authorisation. Please be aware that without the required medication & documentation, your child will not be able to attend OOSH.
😁 A happy smile: the most important item of all!

We can’t wait to see you all these school holidays for lots of fun, laughter, adventures & excitement! 🌈🎉

A Colourful Afternoon at Active OOSH Tinonee! 🎨🖼️

✨ Our OOSHies kicked off yesterday afternoon by gobbling up a super healthy afternoon tea in seconds! Next they painted a giant "I AM" canvas, filling it with words that show who they are & how they feel, which sparked some creative tattoo art. To round things out, they grabbed the skipping ropes & got tangled up in a game of Twister!

💙 Putting feelings & personal qualities into words helps kids understand themselves better & express who they are with confidence.

🦋 The "I AM" canvas gave the children space to celebrate what makes each of them unique, building a strong sense of identity as described in My Time, Our Place.

💡 Did you know? Creative projects like this support the learning outcomes in My Time, Our Place & help meet the National Quality Standard for Quality Area 1: Educational Program & Practice (Element 1.1.2, Child-centred), where each child's strengths, ideas & interests shape the program.

Someone can seem fine and still be struggling. A simple check‑in bridges the gap between what you see and what they feel.

If you're thinking it, Ask R U OK? Any Day.

👻👻Ooshies for Ooshies!👾👾

Tinonee ooshies have been collecting Ooshies from Woolworths for a few weeks now & yesterday we decided to open them & start our collection. We had quite a few glow in the dark & gold ones too!

Once we have collected them all we’ll do a secret draw to see who wins the collection!

The children were very excited to get collecting!

🦋🦋 OOSH EDUCATORS DAY 🦋🦋

⭐️⭐️ Last week we had a fun day celebrating the Active OOSH Tinonee Educators (so much that we nearly forgot to take photos!)

We celebrated with Yoghurt pops, chips & cupcakes & then had an afternoon full of different activities including slime play, karaoke, dirt car racing & soccer! We finished the afternoon with lollies 🍭 & a crazy cart ride around the cemented area while others played on the fixed equipment. A fun day was had by all!! ⚽️🧗🏼🎤

🤩🤩 What a fun spontaneous morning was had Tuesday morning at Tinonee! We started the morning doing Spirograph people & the ended up in a dance off 💃🕺with song requests everyone had so much fun that they didn’t want to go to school! 📏✏️

💄 💄 Yesterday Minnie Mouse the makeup artist 👩‍🎨 came to visit & did everyone’s makeup including some of the boys, it certainly bought some laughs to the afternoon! 😍🤣

🎨✨ Budding Artists at Tinonee! ✨🎨

Our creative OOSHies were busy at Active OOSH Tinonee yesterday afternoon, bringing their masterpieces to life with Paint by Numbers! 🖌️🎨

The activity certainly brought out the inner Picasso in many of our children, while others chose to go freestyle, creating their own beautiful interpretations of the sky, sunset & reflections on the water. 🌅💙

It was wonderful to see so much creativity, imagination & artistic expression on display.🧑‍🎨👩‍🎨

🎼🎹 Yesterday was a special day for Active OOSH Tinonee, our keyboard arrived & wasn’t it a hit!! It was originally requested by one of the children but everyone was taking turns & showing off their musical & singing skills 🎤

Everyone got into the swing of it & even started doing tutorials to learn to play actual songs. I think we’ve got some stars 🤩 in the making!! 🎹🎼🎤🎫

We also had a student grace us with his latest purchase... fish shoes 🐠 not sure if the trend will catch on🤔
