From 5 January 2026, all CCS eligible families can get at least 72 hours of subsidised child care per fortnight.

Families can get 100 hours of subsidised child care each fortnight for each child if they:
- are caring for an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander child
- have more than 48 hours each fortnight of recognised participation
- have an exemption or experience exceptional circumstances
- receive Additional Child Care Subsidy (ACCS) child wellbeing, temporary financial hardship or grandparent payments.

Families must still pay a gap fee, except in certain circumstances.

Families are not guaranteed a place with a provider. Families will still need to secure a place with their chosen child care service.

Has your child ever sneezed in your face? 🤧

We’ve all been there—kids come home from daycare or playdates with more than just stories. 🦠

RSV, flu and colds are spreading fast across Queensland. These respiratory illnesses are highly contagious, spreading through coughs, sneezes and shared surfaces.

Running a household is busy work—but a little prevention goes a long way:
✅ stay up-to-date with immunisations
✅ teach children to sneeze and cough into their elbows
✅ wash hands regularly (and teach little ones too)
✅ keep kids home when they’re sick
✅ clean surfaces around your home regularly and avoid sharing items.

Caring for a sick child can be a challenging time. Don’t hesitate to ask for help from those around you—whether it’s a pharmacy run or a warm cuppa. 🤍

If you’re worried about how these illnesses may affect you or your child, talk to your doctor or call 13 HEALTH to speak to a nurse.

World Environment Day, Thursday 5th June. Our educators introduced the children to environmental awareness in a fun and engaging way as they worked together to clean our outdoor environment. Our educators spoke about recycling and different ways we can protect our environment. This aids children to develop a sense of belonging and a connection to the world around them and helps support sustainability 🌏🗑️🚮

Ginger Sports visited the centre today so the children could practice their soccer skills. Ginger Sports teaches children basic ball handling skills, co-ordination, listening and turn taking skills all while having fun and gaining confidence in a safe environment. Today was a trial run and we have lots of children who are interested in continuing Ginger Sports weekly. We will let everyone know more details soon ⚽️

Our Junior Toddlers explored different textured surfaces yesterday to promote their sensory development, cognitive awareness, balance and co-ordination skills. They explored rough, soft and hard surfaces with their bare feet, all while having to adjust their grip and balance on each surface. This experience aided in language development and allowed the children to make the connections between the different surfaces.
