Sensory exploring in water, lemons, oranges, cucumber, thyme and rosemary. Smells so fresh like spring 🌼. And taste sour but yum says Nate. We used mini nets to extend gross motor coordination and hand control scooping up the items. A lovely way to cool down in the shade and relax just before rest today.

After reading and singing
Hey Di**le di**le nursery rhyme the children and I decided to pull apart this nursery rhyme to just see what is happening
A cat playing a fiddle
A cow jump over a moon
A dog laughing
And a dish and spoon running 🏃‍♀️
Crazy right, we thought it would be fun to make some of the characters
The cat
The moon and next week
A spoon with legs
I’m not sure where the nursery rhyme states we eat paint but some children decided taste testing was important too. 😂😂
It’s all about exploring and using our senses to learn and extend our understanding.

Today the children made their own lunch and we had a beautiful picnic in the shade.
We made wraps with a choice of vegemite or peanut butter or Nutella. I’m a very proud educator of the skills, washing hands, safety and respectful interactions the group had, these life skills of good hygiene practices, preparing meals, communicating theirs needs create confidence, independence and positive self worth. I’m very excited to be apart of little minds doing great things.

Last week we made a monster truck collage and this week are making monster truck tracks. The children really love cars. As part of book week we decide to explore books in all different ways to extend our literacy experiences. We listened to this book being read on You Tube. Lots of learning through this activity
Early literacy skills, fine motor development, communication encouragement, hand strengthening, audio skills for active listening, turn taking, colour patterns and so much more.

Same day, same age, same interests, loving life. Our little friends today are really enjoying each other’s company. Riding, making car sounds, taking turns, leading the play theme and most important engaging with each other. Socialising is a life skill that we practice every day. EYLF outcome 2 connecting with community.

Flower Art. Bonnie decided we needed to make a Art Flower Gallery and this project extended from there. The art work turned out similar to Japanese art called ikebana which is using and arranging real life materials such as flowers for art making.

We have been practicing life skills and the most important is preparing healthy meals with good hygiene practices. For morning tea the children made wraps with the choice of ham cheese tomato carrot and lettuce. We washed our hands and tried using tongs. Each child made their own wrap with a unique combo. We are promoting a sense of agency , healthy food choices, good hygiene practices, while supporting developing life skills. The wraps get the big thumbs up 👍 with lots of Yuma’s and even making a second wrap
Great effect😁😁
