Yesterday we had the most amazing incursion with Kym the Reptile Man. All the children had the experience to meet lizards, a giant cockroach, a turtle and a snake. We all had so much fun with this hands on, exciting and educational show.

Strong relationships are the foundation for confident, curious learners 💛

Goodstart’s key educator approach ensures every child is known, supported and feels safe - through consistent, nurturing connections with educators and meaningful partnerships with families. These bonds help build wellbeing, resilience and a true sense of belonging from day one.

Today we had a very special visitor at the centre. We had educator Kirane and her dog May from The Living Safely with Dogs program. The children were very excited to see what colour the dog was going to be. The children had the opportunity to dance to songs in relation to different topics and learning repetitive phrases to help the children learn about pet safety. The children had the chance to ask Kiarne if they could pat the dog during the incursion.

The Living Safely with Dogs program is a free NSW Government initiative run through the Office of Local Government Responsible Pet Ownership Education Program. It sends trained educators and suitability-tested dogs into preschools and primary schools (Grades K–2) to teach young children essential pet safety and responsible ownership. The Living Safely with Dogs program targets preschool children (ages 4–5) using storytelling, role play, songs, and supervised interaction with a real dog.

As a not‑for‑profit, every dollar we earn is reinvested to improve outcomes – from high‑quality learning and educator development to extra support for children who need it most.

During indoor play on Thursday, the Nursery children participated in a Creative Arts experience.
This experience incorporated sustainability into the children’s arts with painting using their hands, plastic bowls, paper rolls and sponges! Early art experiences help infants and toddlers solve problems, build creativity and learn to express ideas. Sensory art activities can strengthen fine motor skills, language and even social-emotional skills, all while your baby is simply having fun.
The children were all actively involved with this experience, spreading and stamping the paint around the table.
Their creative arts will be displayed in our Nursery room.
