Take a look at this Rockstar!
Leon won the talent quest at the Huntlee Tavern last Monday night. Here he is playing his ESP LTD EC-256 in purple burst.

Leon loves all things rock and metal, his current faves being Metallica, Nirvana, Muse, Sigur Ros and Rage Against the Machine.

I've only been Leon's guitar tutor for a short while but it's been incredible to watch his confidence grow.

Just a little snippet from one of my Lessons with Ayda :)
I've been working with Ayda for almost 6 months now and she has developed so much with her instrument in that time. We are really proud of her dedication and focus, and how far she has come.

When learning a new chord, sometimes its hard to only play one string with your finger. You might find for the first few weeks that one or more of your fingers is touching the string underneath it - muting the string.
Make sure your fingers are 'knuckled' over (like you're checking your nails). Also, try and always come 'top-down' onto the string with your finger tips. It gives you just a little bit more wiggle room :)

Hi Everyone :)
The year has been off to a great start here at Easy B's, with loads of new and returning guitarists coming in for their lessons; and of course its always bittersweet saying farewell to those that eventually need to continue with their own adventures. Wherever that may be for them.

But I've been thinking it might be time to start engaging with people through this page a bit more.

So here's a couple of tips to get you started from home and give you an edge in your playing.

Tip 1: Keep your fretting fingertips directly behind the fret wire! Soooo important and so easy to forget. If you need to play fret 3 (this counts for every string), then place your finger directly behind the 3rd fret wire. Not in front of the 2nd.

Tip 2: Barre chords are hard for everybody. It can take months before they begin to sound right. A big help is to tuck your fretting arm's (this is left for most people) elbow right into your belly/hip. This will engage your bicep more and allow for a tighter squeeze.

Hi Everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year :)

Guitar lessons resume as of tomorrow. I've tailored lessons to each individual student and have confirmed everyone's bookings with them; however if I happen to have accidentally overlooked anyone please just let me know and we can organise things ASAP.
