SACRED HEART DAY

Last week, students and staff celebrated the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The day started with a mass to honour the Feast Day. After recess the fun began with stalls and games around the school, organised by each class and the P&F. At lunch, students enjoyed a sausage sizzle with their friends before participating in teamwork games around the school.

Thank you to everyone who donated and supported the day. All money raised on the day will go towards supporting the Loreto Missions, Catholic Missions and LifeLink.

Keep your eye out for a video recap of the day!

Cross Country

Our students showed determination, resilience, and fantastic sportsmanship as they tackled the track. From our youngest runners giving it their all to our experienced runners, every participant should be so proud of their effort!

A big thank you to Mr Dobson for his wonderful organisation and for helping the students prepare through the morning run club!

Numeracy Outdoors

Kindergarten children enjoyed hands-on learning using natural materials like stones, sticks and leaves. Through play, they practiced one-to-one counting, number recognition and recited number names. They also created small collections to match numerals and explored measurement concepts - making learning both fun and meaningful.

Lego Incursion

Yesterday, Isaac’s Dad, a parent from the PPB class, came in to show his Lego collection to the Pre-Primary students. David is an architect and has created Lego pieces for the Fremantle Library and the Perth City Library.

He has created pieces such as the Sacred Heart Logo, St Mary’s Cathedral, The Last Supper, Perth City, and books that replicate the stories: The Gingerbread Man, Dear Zoo, and The Hungry Caterpillar. Students and staff were amazed and inspired by his creations. A big thank you to David for taking the time to show the students his work!

On Friday, we celebrated our amazing Sacred Heart mums by starting the day with our 'Muffins with Mums' event . During the event, our P&F had some special book gifts for our mums and we drew the raffle where we were able to give away some amazing prizes! A big thank you to the Sacred Heart Thornlie P&F for you continued support and to all the staff who helped out!

We then celebrated our mums together at our whole school Mass. It's always great to get our community together, so thank you to all who were able to come along. It was a beautiful morning!

Sacred Heart wishes all of the mums in our community a very happy Mother's Day!
