Some outstanding results this week for our teams competing at State and Regional Finals! 🏆

On Tuesday at the State Finals, our Year 11/12 Boys Badminton team advanced through the pool rounds before taking on Maribyrnong in the semi-final. While we were defeated in the semi-final, it was an incredible effort to make it so far! 👏

Adding to an already impressive day, our Boys Badminton team was awarded the School Sport Victoria Spirit of Sport Award for the way our students conducted themselves throughout the competition. The award recognises respect, integrity and leadership, and is voted on by all participating schools. A fantastic achievement and a wonderful reflection of our students! 🙌

Yesterday, our Year 9/10 Girls Soccer team went undefeated to win the Regional Finals! ⚽️🏆

Next up: the State Finals in September!

We could not have been prouder of the 40 students who attended the 2026 Snow Camp at Mt Buller last week. 🎿🏂

Whether first-time skiers or boarders, or picking the sport back up, everyone showed enthusiasm, resilience and determination each and every day.

It was also so lovely to see the way everyone looked out for each other, always making sure one of their mates had a snow buddy, and even looking after their teachers too! ❤️

Everyone was polite, respectful, tenacious and great fun to spend every day on the mountain with. What a fantastic group! ❄️🏔️

Big news! 🏉 THS alumni Will Green (Class of 2023) will make his AFL debut for the Sydney Swans this weekend against Port Adelaide. Sydney Swans

Will was selected with Pick 16 in the 2023 AFL Draft, and has now earned his opportunity at the highest level.

With Sydney currently sitting second on the ladder, it’s an exciting time for Will to make his debut.

The Thornbury High School community is incredibly proud of you, Will! ❤️🤍

Our students have had an outstanding start to Term 3, competing at the North Metro Region Finals with determination, teamwork and school pride.
