Answer to sample question
Dear candidates,
Thanks again to all of you that attempted the sample questions for last week. Here are the answers.
1. B - 1st increment of composite resin. It is important to minimise the number of walls that are bonded to. This reduces the C-factor
2. E - highest C factor as 5 walls are involved
3. A - number 5 is the final increment within a proximal box and carries a C-factor of 1 as all other walls have been previously bonded
4.C buccal aspect of cavity. This is due to the fact that composite resin cures towards the light source.
5. C - unsupported enamel removed
Kind regards

Here's this weeks question! Thanks to all that have been attempting them. It's great to see everyone improving :-) Good luck!
Dear Candidates,
Thanks again for all those who made an attempt at last week's questions. It is great to see everyone giving them a go. It is already clear people are starting to improve in their ability to deduce the answers for the scenario based questions. Keep up the good work! Here are the solutions for last weeks questions
1. D – It is important to treat the patient as opposed to the problem only. All caries control and periodontal maintenance must be completed and maintained prior to embarking on reconstructive work.
2. E – the anterior maxilla can be a combination of D2 and D3, according to the MIsch classification of bone density. Candidates should familiarise themselves with this.
3. E- This one is a little tricky. When a buccal dehiscence is present, grafting is almost always required to augment the site. Although it may not contribute to primary stability, it will aid in the management of the soft tissue in the aesthetic zone. The patients time contraints should not hinder your normal course of action
4. E- Periodontal disease is important, and may candidates have picked this answer. How ever smoking and diabetes are likely to affect the success of the implant prosthesis in comparison to periodontal disease. Thus this is the favoured answer.
5. C- 12 weeks. Delayed placement and delayed loading after grafting will generally take approximately 3 months. This may increase slightly permitting soft tissue and emergence profile establishment.
