Looking for a school where your child can feel supported, understood and re-engage with learning again?

We know that school doesn’t look the same for every young person. Warakirri offers a fresh start with space to grow, we focus on creating a a learning environment where students can feel comfortable being themselves and supported.

Warakirri has no school fees, there are no additional costs for activities - we even provide breakfast and lunch.

It was a great day for our future Picton campus earlier in the week đź“š

We welcomed students, parents, carers, Warakirri College staff, and members of Wollondilly Shire Council including Councillors Jacqeline Jenson and Suzy Brandstater (pictured) for a walk-through of the site.

It was great to see so much energy and interest in the space, and to give prospective families a glimpse into what the Picton campus will become as we prepare to open in 2027.

Building strong connections within the local community is an important part of establishing Warakirri College in Picton, and we are really looking forward to growing these relationships.

What does it look like when school truly works for every student?

Our Warakirri College Principal, Carolyn, recently shared an important perspective on education for a changing world.

At Warakirri College education meets students where they are currently at, recognising that success doesn’t look the same for everyone. By creating tailored learning in a supportive and engaging small campus format, we can give young people the opportunity to reconnect with education and create new pathways that is proven to have results.

We’re opening the doors to our new Picton Campus location for a special site walk-through 🤝

Before internal construction begins, we have an opportunity to welcome you into the space. Come along and meet some of our team and see the campus as it begins to take shape.

Thank you for your patience and support as we work towards opening our new campus in the Wollondilly Shire. It has been a long time coming, and we look forward to welcoming students and families to Picton.

Enrolments are now open for 2027:

Year 10: Classes commencing Term 1, 2027
Year 11: We anticipate students commencing in early November 2026. We are currently finalising arrangements and will confirm the start date as soon as possible

For many of our students and families, Warakirri College is a chance to experience school differently đź’š

A place to feel safe, understood and supported. A place where students can rebuild their confidence, meet new friends, reconnect with learning and strengthen relationships with those supporting them at home.

We know success looks different for every student. For some, it means completing their RoSA or HSC. For others, it means finding a pathway into TAFE or university. And sometimes, success simply means walking through our doors and feeling like they belong.

Whatever the next step looks like, we are here to support our students, their families and carers as they find their way forward.

One of our very own Warakirri College teachers, Andrew Pierce, was recently featured in The Daily Telegraph, sharing his approach to teaching and the importance of building connection and confidence in the classroom. đź’š

This sits at the heart of what we do at Warakirri College; we believe learning goes beyond what happens in the classroom, it’s about understanding each student, recognising the barriers they may face and helping them build the confidence to succeed.

As our History Teacher, Andrew brings this to life every day, creating a classroom where students feel respected, supported and ready to learn.

For Andrew, one of the most rewarding parts of teaching is seeing that growth firsthand, from building confidence in the classroom to watching students walk across the stage at graduation. 🎓

We’re incredibly proud to have teachers in our team who support the flexibility for students to succeed with the structure to imagine a different future.
