Gavana Dairy Farm and Educational Tours We host school groups, business groups and overseas tour groups. Our education program is centred on the NSW dept of education "farm to plate".

For our school groups program we offer a sensory overload experience - from a history lesson of the Australian Dairy industry through to the present computer age. We discuss where milk comes from, have a go at hand milking a cow, Make some butter the old fashion way and get up close and personal with a baby calf to discuss the beginnings of a productive life on the farm. For our corporate partners

we tailor a package to suit your needs and the needs of your clients, topics include such things as OH & S issues, production capacity, Genetics and breeding. We offer morning and afternoon tea's and lunch (please ask us for a quote).

Today we welcome senior students from Corrimal High School for a visit yr 11/12 visit to the farm to discuss the dairy industry, sustainability, global trends, global, national, state based linkages, farming processes to produce milk and fresh produce for the Australian consumer.

Today we welcomed Veterans from Spur Ranch - RSL Lifecare to our farm.
A great day was had as our visitors witnessed the birth of a new born heifer, they met Gavana Ford Bell aka 1177, an a new red and white heifer born premi from our sweetpea family.

Lots of information and questions and a 5 taste milk test comparing 5 different white milks.

We thank our returned service members for their service to our country and for visiting us at Gavana.

Big week last week with lots going on around the farm.

Visits from Chevalier College Ag students and Edmund Rice College Yr 12 Geography Students.

Welcome Rain through may has set up the rye grass, clover and lucerne paddocks for winter and spring.

Lots of new babies born with some stylish new 2 and 3 year old heifers joining the herd.

Well a big day of newbies joining the calf shed. 6 new heifers calves came in from the calving paddock. All sired by Gavana JJ who was an embyro from Fleyas Holsteins out of their Eraser Jane family by Danner P.
May calvings following on from 32 new (2 & 3 year old heifers calving in late March / early April) finally some welcome fresh cows coming into the herd.
