June 5th is World Environment Day, so even if you're an indoorsy sort of person, maybe take a moment to appreciate the oxygen the trees give us, and the honey the bees give us, and all the flies the spiders eat for us, and all the spiders the birds eat for us, and how everything works together to make this planet a livable home.

Wikipedia lists approximately 245 varieties of potato, in Western Australia it's illegal for anyone to have 50kgs or more of this humble vegetable, and I can think of 12 delicious ways to prepare them for eating! Tell us your favourite way to eat potatoes and which variety makes it best (if you know) in the comments.

Where would we be without our committee of management? This group of volunteers probably have the hardest job for the least acknowledgement, since they make all the important decisions behind the scenes. Thank you.

Our charity group volunteers dedicate an awful lot of time and effort to knitting and crocheting items to directly donate, as well as to raffle off to raise funds, and putting together parcels of donated items for various charities in the area. Thank you all.

Sometimes in the day to day hustle and bustle we might not take as much time as we should to acknowledge and thank the people who volunteer their time and effort to help us keep things running here at the community house. So volunteer week is a great reminder to give a big shout out to our amazing volunteers for everything they do for us, and everyone who attends our centre. Thank you so much!

This week is National Volunteer Week, and our community house would really struggle without the dedication of our tireless band of volunteers.
From the front of house volunteers everyone sees at reception, to those who work quietly on charity projects at home, with a wide variety in between, we appreciate everything you do.
Thank you, this week and always.
