Our kindergarten class have been exploring emotions through the wonderful story The Dr Colour Monster. This engaging book helps children recognise, name and understand their feelings by connecting emotions to different colours. Through discussion, storytelling and reflection, children developed their emotional literacy, built self-awareness and learned that all feelings are valid and important. 💛💙❤️💚🖤

Bubble play is much more than just fun! 🫧

Today, the children explored bubbles, developing their gross motor skills as they ran, jumped, reached, and chased them through the air. They demonstrated curiosity and problem-solving as they observed how bubbles floated, moved, and popped, while also building their communication skills through conversation and shared experiences with their peers.

Bubble play provides endless opportunities for learning, creativity, and laughter, supporting children’s wellbeing while encouraging them to become confident and involved learners. Seeing the joy and excitement on their faces as they discovered and explored was truly wonderful! ✨

National Sorry Day acknowledges the Stolen Generations and the ongoing impacts of past policies on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

It is a time for learning, reflection and consideration of how understanding history informs current and future practice.

This means creating culturally safe spaces, listening to Aboriginal voices, and embedding respect, truth telling and belonging into everyday practice.

Reconciliation Australia

25/05/2026

To kick off reconciliation week at our service the Pre Kindy Children created their very own dream time “carvings”.

During this experience the children learnt about the dream time carvings in the Kimberley region, Western Australia and were shown photos of carvings from this region.

This sparked conversation around what the children thought the carvings were, and how long they have been in the caves, and if any of our caves on Gubbi Gubbi land have carvings.

The educators then helped investigate the children’s questions, finding them answers.

We found out a specific carving of a kangaroo was carved over 17,000 years ago.
