You heard that right, next month we are celebrating 150 years of the Tenterfield School of Arts!

To mark this important milestone, School of Arts, Tenterfield Incorporated has launched the School of Arts $100 Club, a community fundraising initiative designed to help activate the Museum and Theatre and reinvigorate the School of Arts as Tenterfield’s arts, culture and heritage hub.

A quick note for anyone who has seen the post on the library facebook about the event — after the show, audience members are warmly invited to stay for a shadow puppetry demonstration, where you'll get a closer look at the puppets and see how they work. It's a lovely introduction to this beautiful storytelling medium, and very much part of the experience — just not a structured workshop as some posts may have suggested.

Spike is fun and engaging for curious minds of all ages. We hope to see you there.

SPIKE is coming to the School of Arts on Saturday 8 August, and we need you to get your tickets now!

Spike is a shadow puppet show for ages 3–10, following a baby echidna stolen from his nest by a sneaky rat, who hatches far from home. A young girl finds him — and together they help each other find where they belong. It's funny, it's beautiful, it's interactive, and it's the kind of live theatre experience that sticks with kids long after the lights come back on.

Presented by Little Wing Puppets— a company that has toured over 1,000 shows across every state and territory in Australia — this is genuinely world-class children's theatre, right here in Tenterfield.
