What to pack your child for a fun filled day at Active OOSH!

25/09/2026

School Holidays are here! ☀️

What to pack each day for OOSH:
🧢 Hat: sun safety first!
🍎 A full lunch box: please pack enough for a full day, as we are very active!
💧 A full drink bottle: staying hydrated is important!
👕 A spare change of clothes: just in case we get stuck into some extra messy, creative or adventurous fun! 🎨💦
👟 Closed-in shoes: essential for all activities & for everyone’s safety. Crocs, slides & thongs are a no-go! 🚫
💊 Medication: If your child requires medication, please make sure it is in date, clearly labelled (tablets in a webster pack) & accompanied by the appropriate documentation/authorisation. Please be aware that without the required medication & documentation, your child will not be able to attend OOSH.
😁 A happy smile: the most important item of all!

We can’t wait to see you all these school holidays for lots of fun, laughter, adventures & excitement! 🌈🎉

A Little Space for Big Feelings at Active OOSH Telegraph Point! 🌿💚

✨ Meet our new Regulation Station, a cosy corner where OOSHies can pause, take a breath & step away from the busyness of their day. Comfy seats, soft toys, sensory resources, headphones & quiet activities let them discover what helps them feel settled. Feelings posters & a rainbow breathing guide 🌈 offer gentle prompts to name emotions & practise calming strategies, so they can rejoin the fun whenever they're ready.

💙 Our educators are always close by with reassurance & support as kids work out what helps them. Every feeling is welcome & no child has to handle big feelings alone. 💚

🌱 Learning to notice their emotions & choose a strategy that works builds children's strong sense of wellbeing, a key outcome in My Time, Our Place.

💡 Did you know? Spaces like this support the learning outcomes in My Time, Our Place & help meet the National Quality Standard for Quality Area 5: Relationships with Children (Element 5.2.2, Self-regulation), which focuses on helping each child manage their own feelings & behaviour.

Someone can seem fine and still be struggling. A simple check‑in bridges the gap between what you see and what they feel.

If you're thinking it, Ask R U OK? Any Day.

Book Week, Active OOSH Telegraph Point Style! 📚😂

🌟 For Book Week, our Active OOSH Telegraph Point team decided to write their very own story, Just Another Day at Tele Point, starring some of the school's favourite teachers & staff. Mel transformed into the fabulous Miss Duck & Will stepped into character as Brian, bringing plenty of laughs, questionable acting skills & a whole lot of school spirit for the OOSHies to enjoy.

💙 Seeing our educators throw themselves into the fun like this shows just how much heart & creativity the Active OOSH Telegraph Point team brings to building strong, positive relationships with the kids.

📚 Book Week turned into a whole school celebration, with our educators using play & storytelling to connect with the children & make it a Book Week to remember.

💡 Opportunities like this tick two boxes at once, they support the learning outcomes in My Time, Our Place & help meet the National Quality Standard for Quality Area 5: Relationships with Children.

Science Week Fun at Active OOSH Telegraph Point!

🧩 Last week the children dove into hands-on experiments, building & problem-solving all week long, growing the kind of curiosity & confidence My Time, Our Place calls "children as confident & involved learners."

✨ The children got stuck into a jam-packed Science Week! They created their own Ocean in a Bottle, watched Exploding Volcanoes erupt, designed an amazing Solar System & tested their engineering skills with Spaghetti & Marshmallow Towers. There was experimenting, predicting, building & plenty of excitement along the way.

💙 Activities like these build problem-solving skills, creativity & teamwork, all while sparking a genuine love of discovering how things work.

ℹ️ Educators provide extra hands-on support during the trickier steps like the volcano eruptions.

🎉 Happy Birthday & Thank You! 🎉

Yesterday we gave our wonderful school cleaner, Mary, a birthday card & a little chocolate treat to wish her a very Happy Birthday! 💙🍫

It was also a lovely opportunity to say thank you to Mary for all the hard work she does each day to help keep OOSH clean, safe & welcoming.

We hope you had a fantastic birthday, Mary & know how much you are appreciated! 🎂✨
