🌿 Living Our Truth | National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day 2026 🌿

Today, Tuesday 4 August 2026, we come together to celebrate National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day. This special day honours the strength, culture, and heritage of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children across our communities.

“Living Our Truth” reminds us all to embrace and respect the rich stories, languages, and traditions that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children carry with them. It’s a time to listen, learn, and support their journey, ensuring a future full of pride and opportunity.

Let’s celebrate with respect and joy as we acknowledge the vital role children play in nurturing culture and building connection. How will you be celebrating Children's Day?

🏃‍♂️ Ran 100 metres
🚶‍♀️ Walked 100 steps

🌟 Today, Bulahdelah Central School proudly hosted a vibrant combined NAIDOC Day event, bringing together all of our students and staff from Tea Gardens Public School alongside our partner schools: Coolongolook PS, Bungwahl PS, and Bulahdelah Central School K-12.

The day was filled with meaningful activities including a moving NAIDOC Assembly, engaging traditional Aboriginal games, rich cultural art experiences like didgeridoo and weaving, vibrant dance sessions, and cooking – all thoughtfully coordinated by staff and supported by senior BCS students.

From the Welcome to Country through to the exciting group rotations, each moment highlighted the strength, pride, and spirit of our Indigenous cultures. Special thanks to our dedicated teachers, support staff, coordinators, and community members who made this event seamless and memorable.

Together, we honoured heritage, inspired learning, and fostered connections between our schools and communities. s to continuing this journey of respect, knowledge, and celebration!
