Book Week provides an opportunity for children to interact with their peers who may have dressed up as different characters. This interaction encourages socialisation, as they share stories about their characters, discuss books, and collaborate on imaginative play.

We are so proud of our amazing founder and CEO, Allison Burns (OAM), who was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for Service to Community Health Standards by the Governor-General of Australia, His Excellency General the Honourable David Hurley AC DSC.

Allison has been one of the most inspiring and influential advocates for button battery awareness and product safety changes throughout Australia.

In 2015, after the loss of her beautiful daughter Bella, she established Bella’s Footprints - a button battery awareness foundation with the vision of educating all Australians on the dangers that button batteries pose to young children.

Allison’s persistent awareness and advocacy work successfully contributed to the implementation of world-first legislative changes for button battery product safety here in Australia.

Her efforts have also inspired other button battery advocates in the USA and UK to follow in Australia’s footsteps with button battery mandates and new safety laws currently being implemented around the world.

Through Bella’s Footprints, Allison has coordinated over a million dollars in button battery awareness campaigns throughout Australia and helped raise thousands of dollars to support Australian families affected by button battery injuries.

She has also been instrumental in introducing International Button Battery Awareness Day to Australia. Creating and delivering educational and awareness programs for young children, parents, and carers.

Today, we say thank you and celebrate Allison and her achievement in receiving one of Australia’s highest honours.

Through pretend play, children learn to do things like negotiate, consider others' perspectives, transfer knowledge from one situation to another, delay gratification, balance their own ideas with others, develop a plan and act on it, explore symbolism, express and listen to thoughts and ideas, assign tasks and roles,Child-initiated play has an important role in children's learning and development. With this kind of play, children explore and learn from their own thoughts and ideas. It gives children the space to be really creative with what they do and drive their own exploration.This form of play encourages cooperation, sharing, and turn-taking, as children work together to create and act out imaginative scenarios. They learn to understand and respect different perspectives, develop empathy, and build stronger social connections with their peers.

Play dough provides a sensory experience that helps to develp fine motor skills, ease tension and improve imagination, aiding early childhood development in a playful way. Playing with play dough is a very kinaesthetic activity that is good for the muscles, joints and bones in your child's arms and hands

Introducing young children to police officers can be complicated but rewarding. While many children will see police officers as friendly and helpful, other children may be scared or have negative ideas about the police.

Today we had such great day with a great opportunity where we've got the chance to meet and greet some of our lovely police officers at the beautiful Aintree Cafe and garden play ground which gave the children an amazing friendly experience that they talked about it the whole day and the excitement to tell others about it.

All Australian children, from the earliest age, deserve to learn about our ancient country and the rich and diverse cultures of First Nations people that continue to this day.

By embedding cultural learning in the early years educators can impart the wonder of Indigenous knowledge, and support Aboriginal children’s sense of identity and belonging, as well as promoting a culture of understanding and respect towards cultural diversity for all children.

With welcoming environment to encourage babies and young children to play because they feel relaxed, comfortable and 'at home' in them. When children feel emotionally safe and secure they are able to explore and find out about the place they are in and the things they can see, touch, manoeuvre or manipulate.
